Appearance
Enji Todoroki is a tall, muscular man with a powerful build. He has short, spiked crimson hair and sharp turquoise eyes. His distinctive beard and mustache are made of flames, though when he deactivates them, faint stubble is visible on his jaw.
Endeavor’s hero costume consists of a tight, navy turquoise bodysuit with flames covering his chest, shoulders, and arms. He uses his flames to form a mask around his eyes, and his boots appear to be either made of or constantly covered by flames, with only the soles and laces visible. He also wears white, cage-patterned bracers on his forearms and a blue belt with pouches on each side.
After becoming the No. 1 Pro Hero, his costume was upgraded. His bracers became more armor-like, fully encasing his arms, with grill handguards that allow him to release flames from his hands. His bodysuit now features large stripes across his torso between the flames, and he added shoulder pads and a belt styled with the kanji for “Flame” (炎).
During his battle with Hood, Enji sustained severe damage to the left side of his face, resulting in a scar from his hairline to his chin. After surgery, his eye remained intact. In the fight against All For One, he lost his right arm after it was torn off by a Rivet Stab. Following his battle with Dabi, his body and face suffered significant burns.
After the Final War, Enji’s face remains heavily bandaged, and he now requires a wheelchair for mobility due to his injuries.

Personality
Enji Todoroki, also known as Endeavor, is a complex individual whose ambition and drive to surpass All Might, the No. 1 Hero, consumed much of his life. His obsession with becoming the strongest hero led him to neglect his family and adopt a cold, unfeeling attitude, particularly toward his wife, Rei, and his children. Enji’s relentless pursuit of power caused him to treat his youngest son, Shoto, as a mere tool to fulfill his unachievable goal, subjecting him to harsh and often abusive training from a young age.
Enji’s strained relationships with his family are rooted in his extreme ambition. He saw his other children as failures and distanced himself from them. His treatment of Rei worsened over time, leading to domestic abuse, which contributed to her mental breakdown. However, despite his severe actions, Enji wasn’t entirely devoid of concern. When he learned that his eldest son, Toya, had inherited fire powers too strong for his body to handle, Enji halted his training to protect him, but Toya’s desperate need for acknowledgment ultimately led to tragedy.
After All Might’s retirement and Enji’s forced rise to the No. 1 Hero position, he began to reflect on the cost of his ambitions. The weight of his new role and conversations with All Might made him reconsider how he treated his family. Enji sought to atone for his past, attempting to reconnect with his estranged wife and children. However, the revelation that his son Toya had become the villain Dabi left Enji devastated, realizing his actions had contributed to Toya’s downfall.
In the face of these challenges, Enji vowed to make amends. Encouraged by Shoto and supported by his family, he chose to take responsibility for his past mistakes and face them publicly, resolving to fight for the future despite the weight of his guilt. During the Final War, Enji sustained significant injuries, losing his arm and being bound to a wheelchair, which led to his retirement from hero work. He now dedicates his life to atoning for his actions and ensuring that his family’s future isn’t burdened by the mistakes of his past.
Overall Abilities
Endeavor, formerly Japan’s No. 2 Hero, rose to the top spot after All Might’s retirement. He holds the record for the most solved cases in history and became the No. 2 Hero by the age of 20. His Quirk,Hellflame, grants him the ability to generate intense fire, which he uses to overwhelm opponents, take flight through flame propulsion, and manipulate heat in various ways. Endeavor’s combat prowess is recognized throughout the hero community, and his ability to contend with top-tier villains, such as the League of Villains and powerful Nomus, demonstrates his incredible strength and skill.
In his battles, Endeavor has faced and defeated numerous Nomu without sustaining significant damage. His strategic thinking and physical prowess were on full display during his battle with the High-End Nomu, Hood, where he managed to destroy much of Hood’s body and, with help from other heroes, eventually defeat him. Endeavor was also instrumental in the Paranormal Liberation War, where he inflicted significant damage on Tomura Shigaraki, despite being physically outmatched.
Enhanced Strength and Durability
Through years of intense training, Endeavor possesses extraordinary physical strength. He was able to knock the gigantic villain Gigantomachia backward using a flame-propelled headbutt. His durability is equally impressive, having survived being thrown through multiple skyscraper walls and withstanding attacks from the body-enhanced Tomura Shigaraki. Even when suffering from severe injuries, including impalement, Endeavor continued to fight, demonstrating his resilience and stamina.
Enhanced Stamina and Reflexes
Shoto Todoroki embracing someone tightly, tears in his eyes, conveying the depth of his emotions and the weight of his struggles as he seeks comfort and support.
Endeavor’s pain tolerance and stamina far exceed that of the average Pro Hero. Despite his body being weakened during the Paranormal Liberation War due to Quirk overuse and injuries from Tomura’s attacks, Endeavor continued fighting, even managing to land significant blows on Gigantomachia. His reflexes are sharp, allowing him to respond quickly to danger, as seen during his battle with Hood, where he countered attacks even with limited visibility.
Keen Intellect
Endeavor’s intelligence is one of his defining traits as a hero. He is highly observant and has solved the most criminal cases in history due to his sharp deductive skills. In battle, Endeavor is quick to analyze his opponents’ abilities and develop strategies to counter them. For example, he quickly identified weaknesses in Nomu’s regenerative abilities and deduced that Hood’s head was the key to defeating him. His strategic thinking extends to his leadership in battle, where he effectively directs his team to minimize damage and ensure swift victories.
Indomitable Will
Shoto Todoroki, visibly injured and emotionally overwhelmed after an intense battle, embraces someone tightly, tears streaming down his face as he processes the aftermath of the fight.
One of Endeavor’s most notable traits is his relentless determination. His desire to surpass All Might drove him throughout his career, and even in the most difficult battles, he pushes past his limits. During his fight against Hood, Endeavor embraced the “Plus Ultra” spirit and overcame his physical injuries to defeat the High-End Nomu. This determination was also evident during the Paranormal Liberation War, where he continued to fight against overwhelming odds, despite Dabi’s attempts to demoralize him.
Teaching
Despite his rough personality, Endeavor has proven to be an effective mentor. During Izuku Midoriya, Katsuki Bakugo, and Shoto Todoroki’s work-study at his agency, Endeavor taught them the fundamentals of hero work, focusing on awareness, speed, and minimizing collateral damage. His teaching methods helped push all three students beyond their previous limits, and his lessons in “parallel processing” were instrumental in Izuku’s mastery of his abilities, including the use of multiple Quirks during battle.
Quirk: Hellflame
Endeavor’s Quirk,Hellflame, allows him to generate and control intense fire. He can manipulate the size, shape, and heat of the flames at will, using them for both offensive and defensive purposes. His control overHellflameis so precise that he can use it to fly by propelling himself with flames from his feet. Endeavor has demonstrated the ability to form weapons, such as spears, from fire and can even emit flames from his eyes.
However, overuse of Hellflame causes his body to overheat, leading to exhaustion and a reduction in physical performance.
Ultimate Moves
-
Flashfire Fist (赫灼熱拳 Kaku Shakunekken):
Endeavor’s signature technique where he raises the temperature of his flames to their highest level, maximizing both power and speed. This move enables him to unleash devastating fire-based attacks or dramatically increase his speed in combat. -

Hell Spider (ヘルスパイダー Heru Supaidā):
A move where thin streams of fire are shot from Endeavor’s fingertips, which can slice through objects with precision. Endeavor used this technique to cut through a skyscraper, but similar to Jet Burn, it overheats his body if used excessively. -

An upgraded version of Prominence Burn. Pushing past his limits, Endeavor uses this to deliver an even more powerful fire beam, which he used to defeat the High-End Nomu, Hood, and damage Tomura Shigaraki. -
Hellfire Storm (ヘルファイアストーム Herufaiasutōmu):
A technique that creates a flaming whirlwind, burning any opponents caught within its range. -
Hell Minefield (ヘルマインフィールド Herumainfīrudo):
Endeavor strikes the ground with his fist, sending flames through the cracks and towards his opponent, followed by a secondary eruption that causes a massive explosion. -

A powerful hook punch performed while engulfing his arm in flames. Endeavor used this move during his fight against Tomura Shigaraki. -
Vanishing Jet Burn (バニシングジェットバーン Banishingu Jettobān):
A combination of Jet Burn and Vanishing Fist, where Endeavor forms a giant fist of flames and launches his opponent away with immense force. -
Ignited Arrow (イグナイテッドアロー Igunaiteddo Arō):
Endeavor pulls his arm back to form a scorching arrow of flames, which he launches at his target for a precise, fiery strike.

Quotes
-
(To Shoto about using the fire half of his Quirk):
“So you’ve finally accepted it! Yes! Excellent! It all starts now for you! With my blood pumping through your veins, you will surpass me… you will fulfill my ambitions!” -
(To All Might about being the Symbol of Peace):
“I gave Shoto everything. By age 20, I’d already climbed to the #2 position. It was because I made that climb that I understood… unless I reached the summit, it was all for nothing. If all I cared about was titles, I could’ve worn a smile like you… and played the part of the lovable fool. But I wanted to be the strongest!” -
(To Hood during their fight):
“I’ve hated this school credo for as long as I can remember! PLUS ULTRA; PROMINENCE BURN!” -
(To Katsuki about his attitude during training):
“Bakugo, you said you wanted to learn what you couldn’t do, right? Your ability is top notch, well, for a rookie at least. But as you are, you will never be able to surpass me. This winter might just be training, but if you’re too slow, you won’t be able to use your normal excuse anymore. This is not a classroom. If you’re too slow, you won’t be losing points—you’ll be losing lives.” -
(To his family, reflecting on Toya’s “death”):
“If only I’d given it all up that day… But after losing Toya, I felt there was no turning back, so I poured all my energy into Shoto… at the expense of everything else.” -
(To Dabi about their tragic relationship):
“I take full responsibility. I swore to bear that burden… and live my life atoning for it all. But you’ve been watching me all this time, while I couldn’t be there to watch you. You were someone I especially needed to do right by. No, I can’t let you meet your end alone… but I won’t let anyone else get caught up in our tragedy!”
