Elfaria Albis Serfort (エルファリア・アルヴィス・セルフォルト, Erufaria Aruvisu Seruforuto) is a member of the Magia Vander from the Ice Faction: Albis Vina. She is also the childhood friend and love interest of Will Serfort. As a powerful magic user associated with the Ice Faction, Elfaria plays a significant role in the magical world, particularly in connection with Will’s journey.
Personality

Appearance in Anime
Elfaria Albis Serfort is one of the few individuals who has never looked down on Will Serfort, having known him since childhood. She recognizes his kindness and bravery, often affirming that he is stronger than others perceive him to be. However, her affection for Will extends far beyond admiration she harbors an intense, almost obsessive love for him, believing since childhood that he was her other half. Even after years of separation, her devotion remains unchanged; she sleeps with dolls modeled after him and openly declares her love, even in front of others such as Zeo, claiming that Will is her bride and vowing to protect him.
Despite her immense magical status, Elfaria is notoriously childish and lazy, earning her the title “The Embodiment of Laziness” within the Tower. She holds little interest in the Tower’s political affairs and spends most of her time either sleeping or watching Will’s actions from above, much to the dismay of her overworked second-in-command, Sarissa. While many outsiders regard her as a saint, this is a carefully crafted public image, and those closest to her recognize it as a facade. Though she remains largely inactive in matters of governance, she is highly invested in Will’s life, both in the past and present.
Elfaria has an overwhelming desire to monopolize Will’s attention, going to great lengths in the past to ensure he noticed her. During the Grand Magic Festival, embarrassing details of her efforts were exposed to the entire school, though this did little to deter her devotion. She also exhibits deep jealousy when others show interest in Will, reacting fiercely when Iris claims she could take Will or when Zeo attempts to recruit him into his faction. In both instances, Elfaria lashes out, making her possessiveness and jealousy clear.
Although she left Regarden Magical Academy far earlier than Will, she remains steadfast in their childhood promise to become Magia Vander together and watch the sunset from the Tower’s peak. She insists that she will wait for him as long as necessary. She has also spoken about Will to others, such as Iris, who developed an interest in him after hearing Elfaria’s stories. Despite her confidence, she is not immune to embarrassment when Will brings up an awkward moment from their past, she immediately asks Sarissa if any magic exists to redo the past or erase memories, revealing a more vulnerable side to her otherwise commanding personality.
Appearance
Elfaria Albis Serfort has striking blue eyes and long, flowing light blue hair, complementing her affiliation with the Ice Faction: Albis Vina. She is most commonly seen wearing the Holy Shroud of Diamond Dust, a regal white dress adorned with gold trim. The attire consists of a main dress featuring a diamond-shaped crystal embedded above her chest, knee covers, and a flowing cloak that drapes from her upper arms, giving her an ethereal, saintly appearance.
During her time as a student at Regarden Magical Academy, Elfaria adhered to the standard academy uniform, which included a light-colored top, a dark-colored skirt, a student robe, and a bolo tie, presenting a more formal and structured look compared to her current elegant and mystical attire.
History
Elfaria Albis Serfort was abandoned as an infant alongside Will Serfort, both left outside an orphanage where they were raised together. As children, they often explored the forest behind the orphanage, where they encountered mana-infused magical creatures, remnants of the war in Regarden. Recognizing their potential, Elfaria and Will used these creatures to assist the struggling orphanage, which was frequently regarded as a burden and a dangerous environment for their caregiver whom Elfaria affectionately referred to as “Father” in the manga.
Later, Elfaria enrolled at Regarden Magical Academy, where she excelled at an extraordinary pace, quickly ascending through the institution’s ranks. Her exceptional magical talent led her to become the youngest Magia Vander in history, a feat unmatched by any before her. Before leaving for her new position, she entrusted Will with a pair of goggles, which he has cherished ever since, regarding them as a deeply personal memento. She eventually became part of Mercedes Caulis, more commonly known as “The Tower,” where she assumed a powerful yet largely inactive role.
Elfaria rose to the prestigious title of Magia Vander in record time, progressing from Regarden to the Higher Institute within a year—a feat attributed to her remarkable proficiency in spellwork. Notably, she created twelve original spells, an unprecedented achievement in magical history. Despite holding such a significant position, Elfaria remained largely uninvolved in the Tower’s official matters, delegating most responsibilities to Sarissa while she spent much of her time sleeping or watching over Will from above. Her public image as a “saint” was carefully cultivated, though those closest to her recognized it as a carefully crafted facade. Her true focus remained on Will’s progress, as she eagerly awaited the day when they could fulfill their childhood promise to stand together as Magia Vander and watch the sunset from atop the Tower.
One of the more controversial fan theories suggests that Will’s roommate, Rosti Nauman, is actually a gender-swapped clone of Elfaria, created to preserve her deep affection and love for Will. This theory stems from multiple pieces of evidence, including Rosti’s unusual name, which is believed to reference “Frosti the Snowman” implying a direct connection to the Albis Vina Ice Faction. Additionally, during a terrorist attack, Rosti’s body shattered like ice and disappeared, immediately cutting to Elfaria waking up from a nap, further fueling speculation that the two are linked.
Moreover, in the manga, ice magic is a recognized subset of water magic, which explains Rosti’s proficiency in water-based spells. While no official confirmation has been given regarding this theory, the parallels between Elfaria and Rosti continue to spark discussions among fans, making it one of the most debated mysteries within the series.
Abilities and Equipment
Elfaria Albis Serfort is a prodigious mage, recognized as the youngest Magia Vander in history and holding the record for creating the most original spells a total of twelve, the first of which she developed at the age of two. Her immense magical prowess has allowed her to defeat other Magia Vander, including Ellenor Ljos Alf, in an ice-magic duel and to fight Zeo Thorzeus Reinbolt on equal terms, further proving her exceptional talent. As a member of the Ice Faction: Albis Vina, she specializes in ice magic, though she is also proficient in water magic and common magic.
As one of the Magia Vander, Elfaria possesses immense magical energy, allowing her to cast supreme-grade spells. She is widely regarded as the most powerful ice mage alive, capable of wielding nearly all existing ice spells. Among her most powerful techniques is Armenta Auliscas, a high-grade spell that launches an ice barrage without incantations, and Riville Calantibium, which fires a concentrated ice beam capable of piercing multiple enemies. She can also summon an ice bombardment using Stellas Natea and enhance her magic output through Clone Chain Full Connect, a technique that links her clones together to amplify the potency of her spells. Her signature spell collection, El Glace Frosse, consists of twelve unique ice spells, each developed by Elfaria and known collectively as Elfaria Glacius Frosse, which only she can perform.
Among her most notable signature spells, Ars Weiss is a cloning spell that allows Elfaria to create multiple replicas of herself, each capable of casting magic. Unlike autonomous guardian-type summons, these clones require her direct control, and they can either detonate, trapping enemies in ice, or serve as remote magic circles to cast other spells. According to Will, Elfaria created this magic at just two years old and used it to create ten clones to play with him. Another significant spell, Fruzel Cardeneia, allows Elfaria to summon an immense ice cathedral, powerful enough to wipe out entire enemy swarms. When Will copied its effects, he was able to annihilate an entire group of monsters in an instant. She also created Mildas Froiderite, a defensive barrier spell that simultaneously protects her and freezes enemies as they approach. Interestingly, Elfaria admitted that she originally invented this spell to prevent Will from escaping her embrace, further highlighting her deep attachment to him. Among her supreme-grade spells, Glacia Last Albis is one of her strongest, allowing her to summon a massive ice phoenix with overwhelming power.
Though best known for her ice magic, Elfaria is also proficient in water magic, capable of casting nearly all known water-based spells. This connection has fueled speculation that Rosti Nauman, Will’s roommate, may be a gender-swapped clone of Elfaria, as ice magic is often categorized as a subset of water magic. Additionally, she can use Common Magic, such as Search, a detection spell that allows her to sense people or monsters within a specific radius.
Elfaria wields Albis Vina, a long white staff with gold decorations and three chunks of ice at its tip and sides, which enhances her ice magic and symbolizes her status as Magia Vander. She also wears the Holy Shroud of Diamond Dust, a gold-trimmed white dress and sandals that amplify her magical abilities, particularly those related to ice magic. The combination of her extraordinary magical talent, unique spells, and legendary status solidifies her reputation as one of the most powerful and enigmatic figures in Regarden’s magical hierarchy.
Relationships
To her joy and surprise, it was Will himself who refused to let go, vowing to reach her no matter the cost. In turn, Elfaria promised to wait for him no matter how long it took. This declaration deepened her love for him even further, pushing her to find ways to stay connected to him, no matter how unconventional. When Elfaria ascended to the rank of Magia Vander, she frequently attempted to use her authority to bring Will to her side, even at the risk of violating The Tower’s laws and damaging the reputation of her faction. Her relentless attempts were only curtailed by Sarissa, who often had to negotiate compromises to prevent Elfaria from making reckless decisions. In some instances, Sarissa was even forced to negotiate with scouts to ensure Will received recognition, allowing Elfaria to stay within the bounds of the system while still aiding him.
Despite her pragmatic nature, Sarissa does not oppose Elfaria’s feelings for Will, nor does she attempt to discourage their connection. In fact, she has even aided Elfaria on multiple occasions, as long as it did not jeopardize the reputation of their faction. However, managing Elfaria’s impulsive tendencies remains one of her greatest challenges, as Elfaria is prone to throwing aside protocol in pursuit of Will, forcing Sarissa to find compromises to keep everything in balance.
