Eiko Tsukimi (月見 英子, Tsukimi Eiko), is the main female protagonist of the anime and manga series Ya Boy Kongming! (Paripi Kōmei). A passionate and talented amateur singer working at BB Lounge, Eiko dreams of making a professional debut in the music industry. Her journey is one of perseverance and rebirth, as she overcomes emotional trauma and self-doubt with the help of the legendary strategist Zhuge Kongming, who is mysteriously reincarnated in modern-day Shibuya.
Driven by her love for music and a desire to connect with others through song, Eiko’s character embodies the spirit of resilience and transformation, evolving from a quiet, troubled young woman into a confident performer with growing recognition.
Background

Appearance in anime
Eiko was born into a complicated and emotionally strained family, and she struggled to find meaning and happiness during her adolescence. While on a high school trip to Shibuya, Eiko’s despair reached a breaking point, and she attempted to end her life. However, she was rescued by Kobayashi, the owner of BB Lounge, a small music venue in the heart of Shibuya.
That same night, Kobayashi introduced her to the powerful performance of Maria Diezel, an American singer whose music deeply touched Eiko and inspired her to pursue singing. Eiko began working part-time at BB Lounge and performing occasionally, but despite her talent and efforts, she struggled to break into the competitive music scene. Her motivation was beginning to wane until fate brought Kongming into her life.
Appearance
Eiko has long, light brown hair, often styled in a ponytail or worn loose, and warm brown eyes. Her casual fashion sense reflects her artistic personality, usually consisting of layered tops, skirts or jeans, and comfortable sneakers. She is typically seen with a guitar case or microphone, highlighting her identity as a performer.
On stage, Eiko adopts a more expressive style, radiating both vulnerability and strength as she connects with audiences through her voice.
Personality
Eiko is gentle, introspective, and humble, with a strong emotional core. Initially, she suffers from low self-esteem, haunted by past trauma and feelings of inadequacy. Despite her love for singing, she constantly questions whether she’s good enough to succeed.
However, Eiko is also resilient and deeply passionate. With encouragement from Kongming and her friends, she begins to believe in herself and pushes forward through rejection and obstacles. Her kindness, sincerity, and growing determination gradually turn her into a charismatic and genuine artist capable of touching hearts.
