

Destiny O. Ogedegbe
Destiny O. Ogedegbeis a NigerianLawyerwho currently works in the leading law firm of Banwo and Ighodalo as a trainee associate. Widely known for his sterling academic feats, he is the first male to graduate with a first class from the Faculty of law, University of Benin[1]and the third best graduating student in the 2019 Abuja class of the Nigerian Law School. As a student advocate and scholar, he has won over 18 awards and recognitions in total from both institutions, ranging from academic achievements to Advocacy accolades in a number of national moot and mock competitions. He is also the current Legal Adviser to the National Association of Nigerian Law Students and serves on the Board of Directors of the National Moot and mock committee, Nigeria.[2]
Education
Destiny O. Ogedegbe was born in Benin City, Edo State, in the mid-1990s, hailing from Orhionmwon Local Government. He is the second child among five siblings from both parents, with an additional step sister.
Notably, Destiny is the elder brother of the emerging young talent, rapper Harry Carter. His educational journey began at Good Foundation Group of Schools for his primary education and continued at Unicoach Group of Schools for his secondary education. However, due to financial constraints, his family had to relocate, interrupting his schooling briefly.
Undeterred by challenges, Destiny later completed his secondary education at Axxex Foundation Schools. In 2013, he gained admission to the prestigious University of Benin, Nigeria, where he embarked on his journey in the field of law.
Destiny’s academic prowess shone brightly during his time at the university. In 2018, he graduated as the valedictorian of the Faculty of Law, earning the title of the best graduating student of his class. Beyond his formal education, Destiny has also expanded his knowledge through various online certifications from esteemed institutions such as the University of Aberdeen and the University of Pennsylvania, USA.

Career
While Destiny’s career has only begun, he has managed to serve as a Research assistant to notable academics in the University of Aberdeen on African trade agreements and making comparative analyses of cross-jurisdictional legal issues. In addition, he offers lectures on trans-border commercial transactions to diaspora law students and is a constant contributor to local and international law journals.[4]
