Demajhay Bell
Demajhay Deshawn Bell, affectionately known as “Peanut,” was a beloved member of his community. Growing up in Richmond County, he attended public schools and displayed a fervent passion for basketball. As a member of the AAU basketball team, Demajhay showcased his dedication to the sport. Following his high school years, he had aspirations of joining the Marine Corps, reflecting his commitment to serving his country.
Death
In March 2016, tragedy struck when Demajhay lost his life in the Hephzibah Street Brawl. Sustaining a stab wound to his neck during the altercation, he was rushed to Augusta University Medical Center for treatment. Despite the medical efforts, Demajhay passed away two days later at 10:40 a.m. He was only 18 years old. In the aftermath of this senseless act, nine individuals have been charged with his murder, shedding light on the devastating impact of violence within communities.
