Deering and Down defy convention with their uniquely unorthodox style. Lahna Deering, hailing from Canada, serendipitously found herself in Alaska, where she crossed paths with the rock and roll journeyman, Rev Neil Down. Their collaboration began with Deering’s powerful vocals harmonizing with Down’s distinctive “left of center” guitar playing, laying the foundation for their creative partnership. In recent years, Deering and Down have delved deep into the rich browns and Blues of Memphis, drawing inspiration from the Mighty Mississippi River. They have also ventured back to Alaska and Canada, allowing them to broaden their musical horizons while staying connected to their original roots, which were illuminated by the vibrant hues of the Aurora Borealis. Their music is a fusion of smoky Memphis flavors illuminated by the shimmering glow of the northern lights, resulting in a sound that is as unique as it is captivating.
