Daigo has spiky black hair with long sideburns, tan skin, and a well-built physique that reflects his active personality. He typically wears the standard Tōtsuki uniform, though he keeps it unbuttoned and opts to go without a tie, giving him a laid-back appearance. Even when cooking, he prefers a simple white undershirt. His rugged features and confident demeanor contribute to his tough and bold look.

Daigo is often seen quarreling with Shōji Satō, though their constant bickering masks a strong friendship. Despite his rough exterior, he is deeply loyal to his fellow Polar Star residents, quick to defend them from insults and always cheering them on during major competitions. He has a playful side as well, frequently teasing Zenji and using his room as a gathering spot for parties with the rest of the dorm. Although he often argues with Shōji, the two are rarely seen apart, showcasing their close bond beneath the surface.

He passed Fumio Daimidō’s entrance test and was admitted to the Polar Star Dormitory before the start of the series.
