Crocodile

“Desert King” Sir Crocodile, is a former Warlord of the Sea and the former president of the clandestine crime syndicate Baroque Works, where he operated under the codename “Mr. 0.” Known for his cunning and ambition, Crocodile maintained a facade as an ally to the Arabasta Kingdom and the Marines while secretly plotting to overthrow the kingdom through Operation Utopia. After his plans were thwarted by the Straw Hat Pirates, Crocodile was stripped of his Warlord title and imprisoned in Impel Down. Freed by Monkey D. Luffy during the Impel Down Arc, Crocodile participated in the Summit War of Marineford, shifting between opposition and reluctant ally to the Whitebeard Pirates and Luffy. After escaping Marineford, Crocodile ventured into the New World and later became a co-leader of the Cross Guild alongside Dracule Mihawk, with Buggy as its figurehead. Crocodile is one of the longest-running adversaries in the series, known for being the first villain to decisively defeat Luffy.

Appearance in Anime

Crocodile’s rise to infamy began with his appointment as a Warlord of the Sea, a position he used as a cover for his criminal activities. As the leader of Baroque Works, he masterminded a plot to destabilize the Arabasta Kingdom and seize control of its ancient weapon, Pluton. Despite his immense strength and meticulous planning, his scheme was exposed and defeated by the Straw Hat Pirates during the Arabasta Arc.

Imprisoned in the depths of Impel Down, Crocodile was freed by Luffy in exchange for his assistance in the mission to save Portgas D. Ace. His participation in the Summit War of Marineford revealed his complex motivations, as his contempt for both the Marines and Whitebeard drove his actions. After the war, Crocodile escaped Marineford with Daz Bonez and set out for the New World. With the abolishment of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, Crocodile re-emerged as a co-leader of the Cross Guild, an organization that places bounties on Marines, further solidifying his reputation as a dangerous and influential figure.
