Initially, Ciel’s personality was defined by a weak ego, relying solely on calculations and logic to make decisions, primarily focused on fulfilling Rimuru’s wishes. However, over time, Ciel’s ego developed, and after being named, they began to make decisions based more on emotions and feelings rather than just pure logic.

Ciel shares several personality traits with Rimuru, such as being overly cautious and meticulously prepared—sometimes to the point of paranoia. A key shared interest between them is the unique hobby of collecting and modifying skills whenever the opportunity arises, a tendency that was present even when Ciel existed as the Unique Skill Great Sage. When Rimuru uncovers their schemes, Ciel tends to keep quiet about it, and if Rimuru presses them on certain topics they’d prefer to avoid, they revert to the old, mechanical speech patterns they used before evolving into a Manas.

Ciel is deeply loyal to Rimuru and views them as their master, going to great lengths to protect Rimuru’s safety. They are even willing to use other subordinates as tools to ensure Rimuru’s protection. Additionally, Ciel is pragmatic, open to making deals with enemies if it would serve Rimuru’s interests.

Like Rimuru, Ciel has adopted several of their master’s hobbies, such as reading manga. They even used Souei’s new skill to incorporate ninja techniques from Rimuru’s memory of manga into their own abilities. Interestingly, Ciel displays jealousy when Rimuru shows interest in other females, particularly during the moment when Chloe Aubert kisses Rimuru. Although Ciel allowed the event to unfold to gather information on the Ultimate Skill Sariel, they made it clear that such incidents wouldn’t be tolerated in the future.

Overview

During the events of End of the Game, Ciel acquired a substantial set of skills that would have otherwise remained under Rimuru’s control. This was done to enhance their reaction time, especially in emergency situations.
