Chihiro is a student living in a temple household, raised in a family that includes his younger cousin Ranko, his younger sister Mero, and his eccentric grandfather. Unlike other teenagers, Chihiro spends most of his time immersed in zombie-themed media, collecting films, figures, and books about the undead. His fascination isn’t just surface-level he often dreams of falling in love with a zombie, believing it to be the ultimate romantic experience free of superficiality.

After the death of his pet cat Babu, Chihiro becomes emotionally distraught and turns to a handwritten resurrection manuscript in his family’s possession. He begins experimenting with the potion described within, performing nightly rituals in an abandoned building to bring Babu back. It is there he meets Rea Sanka, a girl who initially comes to the ruins to vent her frustrations, unaware of the events her presence will set into motion.

Chihiro is a teenage boy with short, messy black hair and dark eyes. He typically wears his school uniform or casual attire, such as hoodies and T-shirts, and he carries a generally unkempt appearance that matches his withdrawn and eccentric nature.

His facial expressions often alternate between stoic and deadpan when discussing zombies, and emotionally expressive when dealing with people especially Rea. His fascination with the macabre gives him a slightly unusual aura, but he isn’t unkind or threatening in demeanor.

Chihiro is quirky, introverted, and intensely passionate about zombies. While many view him as a weirdo for his obsession, he isn’t ashamed of his interests and is deeply committed to the concept of undead love. He is creative, intelligent, and emotionally sensitive, especially when it comes to matters of life, death, and personal freedom.

Despite his dark interests, Chihiro is fundamentally kind-hearted and empathetic, as seen in his willingness to help Rea when she is suffering. Unbeknownst to him, Rea has been suffering under her father’s control and finds comfort in confiding in Chihiro.

  Rea later consumes the resurrection potion initially out of despair and dies in a tragic accident shortly after. However, due to the potion’s effects, she returns to life as a zombie, fulfilling Chihiro’s long-held fantasy. With no one else to turn to, Rea begins living with Chihiro and his family, and he takes responsibility for protecting and caring for her while searching for a way to manage her condition.

• Growing Attachment and Conflict
  Chihiro and Rea’s bond deepens as he helps her navigate her new undead existence. However, he soon realizes that loving a zombie is not as simple or romantic as he once imagined. Between Rea’s deteriorating body, her psychological struggles, and external threats from her family and others, Chihiro is forced to confront the darker reality of his obsession and decide whether he truly loves Rea or the idea of her.
