Appearance

Ban is a tall, lean man with an athletic, muscular build. He has short, spiky silver-blue hair, with distinctive red eyes. His appearance is characterized by his iconic smirk, which reflects his bold and carefree nature.

Ban usually wears a red leather jacket, unbuttoned to expose his chest, with matching red pants. His fashion sense is as daring as his personality, making him stand out even among his fellow Sins. During his time in Purgatory, Ban’s body endured extreme conditions, which hardened his physique further, giving him an even more rugged and battle-worn look. Despite the harsh trials he faced, Ban’s cocky grin and confident demeanor remained unchanged.

Personality

Ban is one of the most lively and audacious members of the Seven Deadly Sins. He is adventurous, thrill-seeking, and unafraid of danger, often leaping into battles with little concern for his own safety. However, Ban is also fiercely loyal to his friends and is willing to risk everything to protect those he cares about, particularly Elaine and Meliodas. His “greed” manifests in his insatiable desire to protect and hold on to what he loves, rather than in a lust for material wealth or power.

While Ban can be playful, carefree, and occasionally mischievous, he also harbors a tragic backstory, marked by loss and pain, particularly regarding Elaine and his past experiences. This makes him a more layered and complex character who balances a light-hearted attitude with deep emotional wounds.

Powers and Abilities

Ban, the Fox’s Sin of Greed from The Seven Deadly Sins, showcases his sharp fangs, highlighting his beastly nature and his supernatural abilities.

Snatch

Ban’s signature ability, Snatch, allows him to steal objects and abilities from others. He can use it to rob his opponents of their physical strength, rendering them weaker, or to steal their weapons and other possessions. This ability makes Ban an unpredictable and dangerous opponent, as he can effectively disarm and weaken his enemies without ever landing a blow.

Immortality

For a significant part of the series, Ban was immortal due to drinking from the Fountain of Youth. His immortality allowed him to regenerate from any injury, no matter how severe, and made him virtually unkillable. However, Ban ultimately gave up his immortality to resurrect Elaine, losing this power but regaining his humanity.

Extreme Resilience

After spending centuries in the harsh environment of Purgatory, Ban’s body became extremely durable and resistant to pain, damage, and fatigue. Even without his immortality, Ban became one of the toughest characters in the series, able to endure unimaginable suffering and continue fighting.

Holy Rod Courechouse

Ban wields the Holy Rod Courechouse, his Sacred Treasure, a long staff with extraordinary power. Though he rarely uses it, the Holy Rod greatly enhances Ban’s abilities in battle, particularly when combined with his Snatch power.

History

Ban was born into poverty and lived as a thief before joining the Seven Deadly Sins. He was feared for his daring heists and often found himself on the wrong side of the law, gaining the title of the Fox’s Sin of Greed. His life changed drastically when he met Elaine, the Holy Maiden of the Fountain of Youth. Ban fell deeply in love with her, and in his quest to protect the Fairy King’s Forest, he drank from the Fountain of Youth, gaining immortality. However, the cost was great—Elaine was killed protecting Ban from a demon attack, and Ban’s guilt and sorrow from losing her weighed heavily on him.

After joining the Seven Deadly Sins, Ban fought alongside his comrades to protect the Kingdom of Liones and stop the forces of the Demon Clan. His relationship with Meliodas deepened, with Ban going to extreme lengths to help his friend, including enduring the brutal trials of Purgatory to retrieve Meliodas’ emotions and defeat the Demon King.

Relationships

Elaine

Ban’s love for Elaine, the Holy Maiden of the Fountain of Youth, is one of the central aspects of his character. After losing her in a tragic battle, Ban is consumed by grief but holds onto the hope of reviving her. Their relationship is deep and genuine, and Ban ultimately sacrifices his immortality to bring her back to life. Together, they have a son named Lancelot.

Meliodas

Ban and Meliodas share a close brotherly bond. Despite Ban’s pride and rebellious nature, he holds deep respect for Meliodas, and the two frequently tease and challenge each other. Ban’s loyalty to Meliodas is unwavering, shown when he ventures into Purgatory to retrieve Meliodas’ emotions, a feat that required Ban to endure immense physical and emotional pain.

King

Ban’s relationship with King, the Fairy King, is initially tense due to Ban’s history with Elaine, King’s sister. King blames Ban for Elaine’s death, but over time, their relationship evolves into one of mutual respect, particularly after Ban’s dedication to reviving Elaine becomes clear.

Diane

Ban and Diane share a playful and friendly dynamic, often engaging in banter. Despite their different personalities, they trust each other as members of the Seven Deadly Sins.
