In the later episodes, due to Hakumen no Mono’s interference, Asako loses all memory of Ushio and Tora after the Hiyou erase them from everyone’s minds. She is later kidnapped alongside Mayuko Inoue by the East and West Guardians, who seek to forge a new Beast Spear. Initially, Mayuko is chosen as the sacrifice due to her connection to Jie Mei, but Asako intervenes, suggesting Mayuko’s powers could be used to trap Hakumen no Mono and volunteers herself instead. Asako is ultimately saved by Ushio before the sacrifice is carried out.

Mayuko Inoue
Mayuko is Asako’s closest friend and constant companion. The two girls are often seen together and share a strong emotional bond, supporting each other through the various trials they face during the series.
