The AMCAT is organized by Aspiring Minds, which was founded by Varun Aggarwal and Himanshu Aggarwal in 2007.

^[3]It has headquarters inGurgaonand an office inBangalore, and other offices in different Indian cities.^[4]AMCAT as an employability assessment is recognized by many companies Sonata Software, HCL Technologies, Genpact and InoxApp.

The AMCAT is a computer adaptive which assesses basic aptitude (English, quantitative ability and logical) and personality from a job prospective.

It also claims to perform advanced skill assessment for specific roles in industries – IT, Mechanical, Finance, Semi-Conductor, etc.^[5][6]The is conducted in two modules – a compulsory module and an optional module. In the compulsory module, it claims to aptitude and personality skills, which includes English comprehension, quantitative ability, reasoning and logical ability. In the optional module, it s job skills as per the job prospective of different industries.^[7]Based on the AMCAT score, the companies which are in collaboration with AMCAT may hire employees.^[8]

In 2011, Delhi University tied up with Aspiring Minds and launched the AMCAT to assess the employability of the students on their campus.^[9]The IEC Group of Institutions (IEC University) also partnered with AMCAT to assess the employability of their students.^[1]In September 2012, Mohan Lal Sukhadia University conducted the for around 1500 students to assess their employability.^[1]
