Alicetaria February (アリステリア・フェブラリィ, Arisuteria Feburarī), is a noble warrior princess and the protagonist of the fantasy epic manga and anime franchise Alicetaria of the Scarlet (緋色のアリステリア, Hiiro no Arisuteria). As the princess of the Holy Ulterstein Kingdom, she is a valiant and honorable knight, wielding the Götz von Berlichingen, a powerful weapon passed down through the royal family. In her world, she fights tirelessly to protect her people, leading battles against the dark forces of Unterwelt, which were summoned by the black sorcerer Peeping Eternity.
Unlike many of the other “Created” characters, Alicetaria initially sides with Altair, believing that the real world is responsible for the suffering in her universe. However, after learning that Altair had killed Mamika, her closest friend among the “Created,” she turns against her former ally, realizing that Altair’s vision of destruction will not bring salvation. Unlike other “Created” who seek guidance from their creators, Alicetaria rejects her creator entirely, expressing deep hatred toward him for the suffering he imposed on her world and even kidnapping him in an attempt to force him to change her fate.
Background

Appearance in anime
In her original story, Alicetaria of the Scarlet, Alicetaria is the daughter of nobility and the last surviving princess of the Holy Ulterstein Kingdom. She was raised as a warrior, trained from childhood to fight for justice and protect the innocent. As the protagonist of a heroic fantasy, she was destined to face darkness head-on, leading her people against the horrors of the Unterwelt, a demonic invasion orchestrated by the sorcerer Peeping Eternity.
When she is summoned into the real world, Alicetaria struggles to comprehend her existence as a fictional character. Unlike others who seek guidance from their creators, she is enraged to learn that her suffering was predetermined by an author for entertainment purposes. Viewing the real world as the root cause of her world’s suffering, she initially aligns herself with Altair, believing that Altair’s war against the real world is the only way to bring justice to the characters trapped in cruel fates.
However, her perspective begins to change when she witnesses Mamika’s death, an event that deeply shakes her faith in Altair. Realizing that Altair does not fight for justice, but for destruction, Alicetaria defects from Altair’s side, becoming one of the most conflicted and emotionally charged characters in the battle between reality and fiction.
Appearance
Alicetaria is a tall, imposing warrior princess with long, wavy silver hair and fierce golden eyes. She wears heavy white and gold plate armor, symbolizing her noble lineage and warrior’s resolve. Her regal yet battle-hardened appearance makes her one of the most commanding and intimidating “Created” characters in the real world.
She wields Götz von Berlichingen, a massive lance-sword hybrid, which is passed down through her royal bloodline. The weapon is imbued with great power, allowing her to strike down foes with overwhelming force. Her combat style is brutal yet graceful, reflecting both her noble upbringing and battlefield experience.
Personality
Alicetaria is fiercely righteous, strong-willed, and unshakably determined, embodying the ideals of a classic heroic knight. She possesses an unbreakable sense of justice, believing that it is her duty to protect the innocent and vanquish evil. However, this black-and-white view of morality makes her stubborn and difficult to reason with, as she initially struggles to accept moral complexity outside of her original narrative.
Her strong emotional convictions often drive her actions, making her prone to making rash decisions based on her sense of justice rather than logical reasoning. She initially harbors deep resentment toward the real world, believing that creators are cruel gods who torment their characters for entertainment. Unlike other “Created” characters who try to understand their creators, Alicetaria outright rejects hers, displaying anger and hostility toward him.
Despite her intense emotions and aggressive nature, Alicetaria is also capable of great compassion, particularly toward those she considers innocent or righteous. Her friendship with Mamika reveals a softer side, showing that she values kindness and purity, even if she herself is too hardened by war to embrace those traits fully. As the story progresses, she begins to question her beliefs, realizing that blind justice alone is not enough to create a better world.
Role in the Story
-
Allying with Altair
At the start of Re:Creators, Alicetaria is one of the few “Created” characters who actively supports Altair, believing that destroying the real world will free the characters trapped in their suffering. She is deeply distrustful of the human creators, refusing to cooperate with them and insisting that they have no right to control the fate of those they write. Her initial role is that of a powerful enforcer under Altair, using her immense strength and combat experience to fight against those who oppose their mission. However, unlike Altair, who is driven by pure vengeance, Alicetaria genuinely believes she is fighting for justice, making her one of the more tragic and misguided characters. -
Mamika’s Death and Betrayal of Altair
Alicetaria’s loyalty to Altair shatters when Mamika is killed. Having developed a deep friendship with Mamika, she is devastated by her loss and furious upon realizing that Altair is responsible. This moment serves as a turning point, causing her to reevaluate her beliefs and ultimately defect from Altair’s side. Her newfound conflict places her in a difficult position, as she no longer trusts either Altair or the human creators. Rather than seeking redemption or reconciliation, Alicetaria chooses a path of her own, driven by her personal code of justice rather than blind loyalty to any cause. -
Kidnapping Her Creator
Unlike many other “Created” characters who seek guidance from their creators, Alicetaria outright rejects hers, believing that he is responsible for the suffering of her people. Instead of cooperating with him, she kidnaps him, demanding that he rewrite her story to undo the tragedies that have befallen her kingdom. This act highlights her defiance and unwillingness to accept fate, showing that she is one of the most independent and uncompromising characters in the series. Her interactions with her creator eventually force her to reconsider her views, as she begins to understand the complexities of storytelling and creation. Though she never fully forgives him, she ultimately shifts her focus from vengeance to fighting for a future where both real and fictional worlds can coexist.
Relationships
Mamika Kirameki
Mamika is one of the few people Alicetaria deeply trusts, despite their contrasting personalities. Though Mamika is naïve and optimistic, Alicetaria sees her kindness as pure and untainted, forming a sisterly bond with her. Mamika’s death at Altair’s hands is the catalyst that causes Alicetaria to betray Altair and reconsider her beliefs.
Altair
Originally her leader and ally, Alicetaria respects Altair’s strength but is unaware of her true motivations. After Mamika’s death, she realizes that Altair is not fighting for justice, but for destruction, leading her to turn against her.
Her Creator
Unlike other “Created” characters, Alicetaria resents her creator, blaming him for her suffering. She kidnaps him, hoping to force him to rewrite her story, though their interactions eventually lead her to question her hatred toward the real world.
