Following the time skip, Akari’s hair has grown longer and is typically tied back in a small ponytail. However, the death of her mother, Hokage Sakishima, marked a turning point in her life. To help provide for their household and to ensure Hikari would have the opportunity to attend college, Akari began working at Saya Mart, a convenience store on the surface. Her responsibilities and sacrifices reflect her growth into a dependable and selfless figure within the story.

Itaru Shiodome
Akari was once close friends with Miori Shiodome, Itaru Shiodome’s first wife, who had left the sea to live on the surface and later gave birth to Miuna Shiodome. Following Miori’s passing, Akari began supporting Itaru and Miuna during their time of loss. Over time, Akari and Itaru developed a romantic relationship, eventually leading to their marriage. Upon marrying him, Akari adopted the surname Shiodome, becoming Miuna’s stepmother. The couple later had a child together, Akira Shiodome.
