History

Aarti Industries was started in 1975, as “Alchemie Labs” with a single product namely dimethyl sulphate.[4]The journey of Aarti Industries to becomea global partner of choicebegan in 1984, with just two products and one manufacturing unit. Today, the Company is a leading Indian manufacturer of Specialty Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals with a global footprint. Chemicals manufactured by Aarti are used in the downstream manufacture of intermediates with applications in agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, polymer additives, fuel additives, FMCG, dyes, printing inks, pigments and other specialty chemical applications. The Company enjoysglobal leadership in Benzene-based chemistryand has diversified its operations across other derivative chains as well. It exports cost-effective and value-added products to over 60 countries.

Aarti continues tomaintain the highest standards of safetyin its functioning, adopt practices & processes for safer and responsible manufacturing operations to reduce the impact of its operations on the environment. Through these factors, the Company continues to create sustainable, long-term value for its stakeholders.

Products

The Company operates in four segments – basic chemicals, speciality chemicals, agrochemicals and pharmaceuticals. It has sixteen manufacturing units spread across Maharashtra and Gujarat and also has a research and development facility. The company’s products include paranitrochlorobenzene (PNCB), orthonitrochlorobenzene (ONCB), paradichlorobenzene (PDCB), orthodichlorobenzene (ODCB), nitrobenzene, alkylated anilines and toluidines, chlorophenols, fluoro compounds and bulk drug intermediates. It operates in United States of America, Europe, Japan and India. Its subsidiaries include Aarti Corporate Services Ltd, Aarti Healthcare Ltd and Alchemie Europe Ltd.[5]
