Yue (ユエ), formerly known as Aletia Galdea Vesperitio Avatarl (アレーティア・ガルディエ・ウェスペリティリオ・アヴァタール, Arētia Garudie Wesuperitirio Avatāru), is one of the main female protagonists in the light novel, anime, and manga series Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest. A powerful vampire princess and later queen of the vampire nation Avatarl, Yue possesses an ageless body and regenerative abilities due to her nature as an Atavist, a rare bloodline among vampires. After being betrayed and sealed in the Abyss by those closest to her, she spent 300 years in isolation until she was freed by Hajime Nagumo, who became her companion, partner, and eventual husband.
Yue is Hajime’s first and most loyal companion, forming a deep romantic bond with him throughout their journey. Her tragic past, quiet intensity, and unwavering devotion have made her one of the series’ most beloved characters.

Born as Aletia Galdea Vesperitio Avatarl, Yue was the princess of the vampire kingdom of Avatarl, an ancient and noble race. As an Atavist, Yue was born with extraordinary magical abilities, including powerful regeneration, making her effectively immortal. Fearing her power, her uncle and loyal vassals plotted against her, accusing her of being a threat to the throne. She was betrayed and sealed in the depths of the Great Orcus Labyrinth, a cursed abyss from which none were expected to return.
For 300 years, Yue remained imprisoned, her regeneration preventing her from dying but also condemning her to solitude. Her life changed when Hajime Nagumo, a boy from another world, fell into the abyss and encountered her. After freeing her, Hajime gave her the name “Yue,” and the two quickly formed a strong bond. She chose to accompany him on his journey to survive, grow stronger, and find a way back to his original world.

Despite her small stature and serene demeanor, Yue is incredibly powerful and not afraid to unleash devastating magic in combat. Hajime discovers her while fighting to survive the dungeon’s brutal depths. Journey Across Tortus: Yue and Hajime travel across the fantasy world of Tortus, conquering labyrinths, gathering ancient magic, and fighting against both human and divine enemies. Yue’s combat abilities and emotional intuition make her Hajime’s greatest support, and the two become romantically involved early on.
War with Ehit and Return to Earth: Together, Yue and Hajime lead the fight against Ehit, the manipulative false god who controls Tortus. After Ehit’s defeat, Yue follows Hajime back to Earth.
