70 Million Jobs

70 Million Jobs

70 Million Jobsis a recruitment company and employment website with the mission of helping people who have criminal records find jobs. They are the first for-profit recruitment platform for people with criminal records. The name of the site comes from the statistic that there are over 70 million Americans with criminal records.[4][3][0]

History

70 Million Jobs was founded in October 2016 by Richard Bronson. He was inspired to start the company after personally experiencing the challenges of getting a job with a criminal record. Bronson served 22 months in prison after pleading guilty to securities fraud and paying full restitution to the victims of his crimes. While serving time in prison, Bronson realized that many people who are in prison deserve a second chance after they are released. He also learned how it can be even more challenging for people with criminal records who are also minorities or lack formal education to find jobs. Before going to prison, Bronson was running a brokerage firm that reached $100 million in annual revenue. Bronson was also previously a Partner at Stratton Oakmont, the infamous brokerage firm featured in the award winning film, *The Wolf of Wall Street *.[4][13][8]
