History

1st Central dates back to 2006, when Peter Creed presented a business plan to Patrick Tilley, Ken Acott and Tom Acott detailing the pricing techniques available in the fledgling aggregator marketplace.

[1]Together they established First Central Enterprises Limited,[2]as a private company based in the UK.

On 29 October 2008 the Group sold its first policy through its link with the price comparison website Gocompare.com and soon established itself on the UK’s other main price comparison websites, Confused.com, Moneysupermarket.com and comparethemarket.com.[3]In April 2013, less than four-and-a-half years after its launch, the company sold its one millionth policy.

Following the appointment of Andy James as the new Chief Executive Officer of First Central Insurance Management Limited in 2013,[4]the company launched its first TV advert[5]through Sky Adsmart in October 2013,[6]a program that tailors what is shown during TV ad breaks according to a household’s profile and location.

In 2015, the firm’s car insurance was rated 5 Star[7]by Defaqto, an independent financial research company.
