1940–49 Pacific typhoon seasons

The 1940–49 Pacific typhoon seasons encompassed significant events such as the 1941–44 Pacific typhoon seasons, including Typhoon Cobra and others. While these seasons lacked official bounds, the majority of tropical cyclones typically form in the northwestern Pacific Ocean between June and December. These dates conventionally mark the period when most tropical cyclones emerge in the region.

The typhoon seasons listed here pertain specifically to typhoons in the Pacific Ocean, situated north of the equator and west of the international date line. Storms originating east of the date line and north of the equator are referred to as hurricanes; for further information, refer to the 1940–1948 Pacific hurricane seasons. Tropical storms forming in the entire western Pacific basin were assigned names by the Joint Typhoon Warning Center.
