Appearance

Full Appearance in Anime
Hana is a girl of average build with short orange hair in the anime and blonde hair in the manga. She is almost always seen wearing her signature “x”-shaped hair accessory. Whether she’s in her school uniform or a cute outfit she picked out herself, her bright and energetic presence stands out. Hana has a noticeably large chest, which is often highlighted in her design. Her school uniform consists of a white blouse, a blue-and-white tie, a dark blue skirt, black socks, and brown shoes.
Personality
Hana is an extremely cheerful and sociable girl whose boundless optimism makes her easy to get along with. She has a huge appetite and tends to be persuasive when it comes to food, especially anything sweet or cute. Despite her upbeat personality, Hana dislikes bugs and anything frightening, often hiding behind Miko whenever something scary appears. Her mood, as well as her spiritual aura, can fluctuate depending on what she eats and how much.
Background
Hana possesses an extraordinarily powerful life aura that manifests, through Mitsue’s Spirit Sight, as a massive, roaring white flame engulfing her entire body. This aura is so strong that it can unintentionally destroy weaker spirits, such as the Tiny Old Men. However, its intensity also attracts stronger spirits that attempt to feed on it. When Hana’s aura depletes, she becomes sluggish and sickly, but she can quickly recover by eating. Because the energy she consumes is absorbed and drained by spirits, she doesn’t gain weight despite her enormous appetite, which leaves her hungry most of the time.
Trivia
- Izumi’s favorite character. According to him, he initially created her as an energetic and cheerful counterbalance to the usually quiet and silent Miko, and is also grateful to the character for the emotional support that she provides to the main character.
