Saori was a friendly and compassionate young woman, and Akira Tendou became attracted to her at first sight. During the years he endured the harsh and exploitative environment of his former company, he often described her as “the only good thing in this hellhole.”

At one point, Saori became involved with her boss as his mistress, engaging in sexual relations to secure better working conditions within the company.

After retrieving her books, Saori kindly told him that if he ever needed help understanding work, he could come to her, pointing to her cubicle, and wished him good luck on his first day.

During an after-work gathering at an izakaya with his superiors, Akira noticed Saori catching his gaze, smiling, and making a friendly gesture. Internally, he thought she was cute and his type, motivating him to work harder to make a good impression. By his second year, while taking out the trash, Saori appeared with food from a convenience store, reminding him to eat and showing care for him. Akira internally remarked that she was “the only person that keeps him sane in this company,” though he also noted that she had become the CEO’s mistress.

When the zombie outbreak began, Akira rushed to Saori’s place but arrived too late, she had already been zombified along with the CEO. As the zombified Saori chased him, Akira bravely confessed his love before fleeing. Later, when Shizuka Mikazuki was bitten, Akira recalled Saori as a reminder of losing someone he loved to infection. During another chase, when Shizuka asked if confessing to the woman he loved was on his Bucket List, Akira mentioned that he had already confessed to Saori as part of completing it.
