Appearance
Kencho is a tall, handsome, muscular young man with tan skin and dark green hair, later dyed blonde with shaven sides and two long strands framing his face. He has energetic olive-brown eyes, thick eyebrows, sharp lower lashes, and a well-built athletic physique.
In the manga, his hairstyle changes: in Chapter 38, Akira shaves his hair into a buzzcut, and by Chapter 41 it grows into a short spiky style while remaining blonde. His outfit includes a blue unbuttoned dress shirt, hot pink pants, and brown dress shoes.
Personality
During a flashback, Kencho is shown as lively and good at communicating, traits Akira envied. As a real estate agent, he appeared successful, bragging about dinners with politicians and a model girlfriend, but secretly hated lying to clients and felt guilty for his actions.
After confessing to Akira, he regains his natural energetic spirit and joins him in living life to the fullest. Comedically, he attempts a reckless jump to another building, only to be saved by Akira. Kencho is also portrayed as a womanizer, having been seen with multiple women.
History
Kencho first appeared when Akira called him to hang out. He was in a love hotel with a zombified girl, safely restrained in a BDSM suite. Akira saved him, and they reached a rooftop, where Kencho admitted he hated being a real estate agent and had been faking a smile. Comically, he attempted a jump to the next building, injuring himself, and later relaxed with Akira, talking about the future.
He helped Akira complete his bucket list, including surviving zombie encounters at the aquarium, where he cleverly distracted a zombie shark so Akira could kill it. They left Tokyo, traveling in a mobile home and a Harley-Davidson, but Kencho was severely injured in a trap set by Gonzou, Akira’s former boss. Despite his injuries, he supported Akira during Gonzou’s manipulations until Shizuka freed Akira.
On their journey, Kencho acted as bait in zombie battles, helped execute tactical plans with Shizuka, and enjoyed moments of fun, including hot springs visits and sushi feasts. He developed a crush on Beatrix Amerhauser, a skilled samurai helping them, and shared in the group’s adventures while balancing loyalty to Akira and his own flirtatious, carefree personality.
