Naoshi Usui was born into the Usui family, a branch of the prestigious Usuba bloodline known for its powerful and often dangerous Gifts. From a young age he exhibited a rare and formidable ability called Opinokinesis, the manipulation of the five human senses. Unlike many Gifted children whose powers were tempered by guidance or emotional stability, Naoshi grew up troubled. His childhood was marked by violent tendencies, emotional instability, and a lack of proper discipline. The only person capable of calming him was Sumi Saimori, his close childhood friend and the one individual he genuinely cared for. This bond became one of the defining relationships of his youth.

As he grew older Naoshi’s fascination with the limits of human perception and spiritual energy deepened into a dangerous obsession. His intellect and ambition pushed him toward increasingly unethical experimentation. Believing that the current order of Gifted society was stagnant and corrupted, he sought to create a new era built on the evolution of Gifts through extreme means. This ideology led him to establish the Gifted Communion, an organization devoted to studying, enhancing, and ultimately manipulating human abilities. Under his command the group conducted secret research on Grotesqueries, grotesque spiritual entities typically invisible to ordinary people. Naoshi took his Gift to a terrifying level, becoming the first to artificially create Grotesqueries and even allow non Gifted individuals to perceive them.

Despite his calm outward demeanor, Naoshi’s actions grew increasingly ruthless. His desire to reshape the world, mixed with years of emotional suppression and bitterness, drove him deeper into cruelty. The sense of purpose he found in the Gifted Communion distorted into a justification for harming others to achieve his goals. Over time Naoshi transformed from a misunderstood prodigy into one of the most dangerous figures in Gifted society, feared for both his intelligence and the monstrous results of his experiments.
