Norn Clatarissa Jioral, later known under the alias Ellen, is a character from Redo of Healer (回復術士のやり直し, Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi). She is the second princess of the Jioral Kingdom and the younger sister of Princess Flare Arlgrande Jioral. Initially portrayed as a member of the royal family with authority over political and military matters, Norn adopts the name Ellen when concealing her identity. Her role in the series underscores the themes of power, revenge, and the corruption of nobility within the Jioral Kingdom.
Personality

Norn Clatalissa Jioral’s Appearance in Anime
Norn Clatarissa Jioral is depicted as cold, calculating, and one of the most sadistic figures within the Jioral Kingdom, to the point of disturbing even her allies. She is merciless toward her enemies, willing to employ any tactic necessary to secure victory. Beneath this ruthless exterior, however, Norn is shown to be deeply insecure. Aware that she lacks the natural talent and charisma of her elder sister Flare, she cultivates an intimidating reputation in order to command respect and instill fear.
Despite her cultivated persona, Norn is also portrayed as a coward when deprived of protection, as she possesses little physical combat ability. Following the destruction of her forces and her subsequent capture by Keyaru, she attempts to justify her past actions, including the destruction of Alban Village and the deaths of its inhabitants, through apologies and rationalizations.
After being subjected to Keyaru’s brainwashing and memory alteration, Norn assumes the identity of Ellen, a personality that is gentle, obedient, and entirely devoted to Keyaru, whom she reveres as her elder brother. This version of herself reflects what she might have become had she not been shaped by the corruption and cruelty of the Jioral Kingdom. Ellen’s demeanor underscores the contrast between her former sadism and her innate capacity for innocence and kindness, highlighting the impact of her environment in shaping her original personality.
Appearance
Norn Clatarissa Jioral is depicted as a young girl of noble bearing, with medium-length peach-pink hair and green eyes. Her appearance closely resembles that of her elder sister, Flare Arlgrande Jioral, though her build is smaller and less mature. Despite her youth, Norn is regarded as attractive, and her looks often draw comparisons to her sister’s, leading to frequent debate over which of the two princesses is considered more beautiful.
Background
Norn Clatarissa Jioral was raised in Jioral Castle alongside her mother and elder sister, Flare Arlgrande Jioral. During her early years in the royal household, Norn, her mother, and her sister were subjected to harassment by the king’s other daughters. Initially, Norn shared a close relationship with Flare, but this bond deteriorated after Flare was chosen as the Magic Hero, a position that elevated her status within the kingdom.
As Flare’s importance to the royal family grew, she began to distance herself from Norn, treating her with disdain. In response, Norn sought to prove her own worth by developing her abilities as a strategist. However, this pursuit only widened the rift between them, transforming their sibling bond into mutual animosity. Their relationship eventually collapsed to the point where each regarded the other with contempt.
Relationships
Keyaru
In the original timeline, Norn displays cruelty toward Keyaru, mocking and tormenting him when he cowers in her presence. In the rewritten timeline, she instigates conflict in Buranikka that results in the death of one of Keyaru’s companions. In retaliation, Keyaru captures Norn, subjects her to psychological and physical torment, and ultimately erases her memories. He then brainwashes her into believing she is his younger sister, renaming her Ellen. The process, however, inadvertently makes her develop an intense emotional attachment to him, complicating their dynamic.
Flare Arlgrande Jioral
Norn and Flare were close during childhood, but their relationship fractured as Flare rose to prominence as the Magic Hero. While Flare was celebrated, Norn was dismissed as a disappointment within the royal family, straining their bond. Norn later cultivated her abilities as a strategist in an attempt to earn Flare’s recognition, though this effort was never acknowledged. Outwardly, Norn came to treat Flare with scorn, often referring to her as “garbage.” During her eventual capture, however, Keyaru reveals that Norn’s ambition was rooted in a desire for her sister’s approval, a wish that was erased under the weight of his brainwashing.
Abilities
Strategic Intellect
Norn Clatarissa Jioral is recognized as one of the most tactically gifted individuals in the Jioral Kingdom. Her intelligence, foresight, and adaptability make her stand out among nobles and military leaders alike. Keyaru himself considers her one of the most dangerous threats to his revenge, noting that if given adequate preparation time, she could become his most formidable opponent. In the first timeline, she successfully commanded a large-scale subjugation of demon territory, and in the rewritten world she nearly achieved victory in the extermination of demons in Buranikka before being thwarted by Keyaru’s countermeasures.
Her abilities allow her to assess situations with remarkable speed, devising strategies in moments that Keyaru admits he could not match in a lifetime. Norn is able to detect subtle voluntary and involuntary human behaviors, discerning intentions from even the smallest cues. She possesses a photographic memory, enabling her to absorb and recall information instantly, such as reading foreign texts and anticipating dialogue before it is spoken. She often disguises herself as weak or vulnerable to lure opponents into false confidence before exploiting their weaknesses.
Negotiation and Leadership
Beyond her military skill, Norn is also an accomplished negotiator and leader. She is capable of inspiring demoralized soldiers through her speeches and has an acute ability to discern lies or hidden truths during interactions. Her persuasive presence and confidence in command make her a respected, though feared, figure within the Jioral Kingdom.
