Christina Beltrum’s Appearance in Anime

As the first princess of the Beltrum Kingdom and heir to the throne, Christina Beltrum grew up with a strong sense of superiority. Gifted in academics and magic, she was praised by tutors as a prodigy and consistently met with admiration from her parents and respect from her younger sister, Flora. Her early accomplishments reinforced her belief that she was inherently special, destined to stand above others, and capable of achieving anything. This inflated sense of self-worth shaped much of her childhood, leaving her with the impression that effort came naturally to those born to rule.

Christina’s perspective shifted dramatically following her encounter with Rio, who was the first to treat her without deference. His cold gaze and forceful actions unsettled her, making her feel powerless and fearful for the first time. This experience challenged her sense of superiority, leading her to realize that her status, not her individual self, was what made her “special.” At the Royal Academy, this became more evident as she recognized her limits; while academically accomplished, she lacked the extraordinary talent of true geniuses, such as Celia Claire in the field of magic.

These realizations instilled in Christina a stricter and more serious personality. She became demanding of both herself and others, shaped by her upbringing as heir to the throne. Her sense of duty to the kingdom often outweighed her personal feelings, even compelling her to support political decisions she believed were unjust such as siding with nobles during Rio’s false accusation because of the necessity of maintaining alliances. Celia Claire later remarked that Christina had “killed her own heart” in service of duty.

Despite her stern demeanor, Christina deeply loves her younger sister Flora, prioritizing her safety and happiness even if it brings disadvantages to the kingdom. Witnessing Flora’s sadness also heightened Christina’s awareness of her own limitations and the weight of her responsibilities.

Appearance

Christina Beltrum is described as a beautiful young woman with long, straight violet-purple hair that reaches her waist, with her front locks swept to the right side. She has pearl-white skin and eyes of the same violet hue, which are noted for their sharp gaze capable of intimidating those who meet it. Compared to her younger sister Flora, Christina possesses a slightly smaller and more slender build, though her bearing and composure reflect her status as the first princess of the Beltrum Kingdom.

Background

Christina Beltrum was born the first princess of the Beltrum Kingdom and heir apparent to the throne, placing her at the center of the kingdom’s political future from an early age. Groomed for leadership, she was given extensive education in statecraft, etiquette, and magic, excelling in her studies to the point that she was often regarded as a prodigy. Her talents earned consistent praise from her tutors and admiration from the royal court, which further reinforced her sense of duty as the kingdom’s successor.

Despite her privileged upbringing, Christina’s worldview shifted after her encounters with Rio, whose disregard for her royal status unsettled her and challenged her sense of superiority. This experience led her to reassess her own abilities and recognize that her position, rather than innate genius, defined her importance. At the Royal Academy, she became more aware of her limitations, especially when compared with exceptional individuals such as Celia Claire.

As the first in line to inherit the throne, Christina often placed the interests of the kingdom above her personal feelings, even when it required supporting decisions she believed to be unjust. Nonetheless, she demonstrated a softer, protective side toward her younger sister Flora, whose well-being she prioritized above political considerations.

Abilities

Magic
As a member of the Beltrum royal family, Christina Beltrum received elite education in both general knowledge and magical training from a young age. She was recognized as an exceptionally talented student, often praised as a prodigy, and was considered the honor student of her year. Among her peers, only Rio Karasuki demonstrated comparable ability, matching her academic and magical accomplishments.

    • Photon Bullet: A light-based spell that manifests as a glowing orb of energy before rapidly striking a target. While not inherently lethal, it is powerful enough to incapacitate an adult human through intense pain.
      • Hyper Physical Magic: A standard reinforcement spell that enhances the caster’s physical abilities, improving strength, agility, and endurance.
        • Thunder Arc: An electric-element spell that generates a pulsing sphere of lightning, slightly smaller than a volleyball, which is then projected directly at a target.

        Relationships

        Flora Beltrum
Christina is deeply devoted to her younger sister Flora, often doting on her while still maintaining a strict demeanor for her well-being. Although she consistently prioritizes the interests of the kingdom, Christina is willing to compromise when Flora’s safety and happiness are at stake, even if doing so places the kingdom at a slight disadvantage.

        Rio / Haruto Amakawa
Christina’s relationship with Rio is marked by a mixture of admiration, regret, and respect. In Volume 12, she reflects on her arrogance as a child, recognizing how she once considered herself above others. Seeing Rio endure mistreatment and humiliation at the academy forced her to confront her own pride and privilege, leading her to reevaluate her outlook. Christina admires his martial prowess and feels guilt over witnessing his mistreatment by nobles, while regretting her inability to apologize for her behavior due to differences in social standing and her own lack of courage. The incident in which Rio was falsely accused of attempting to murder Flora deeply impacted Christina; she regarded it as the worst day of her life, believing she had lost him forever. That experience strengthened her resolve to reform her kingdom so that others would not endure similar suffering.

        Celia Claire
Christina holds Celia Claire in the highest regard, recognizing her as the most skilled magician in the kingdom and admiring her early graduation from the academy as well as her success in inventing magical devices. Christina also places great trust in Celia’s judgment, openly stating that she is willing to trust anyone whom Celia herself considers trustworthy.

        Trivia
