Personality

Appearance in Anime
AnchoR initially struggles with deep self-loathing, stemming from her core designation as the “One That Destroys.” Burdened by this role, she perceives herself as a being meant only for destruction. After her defeat by her “parents” and eldest sister, however, she comes to understand that dismantling what is already broken can serve a purpose, as it allows for reconstruction into something meaningful. This realization helps her overcome her insecurities, gradually fostering greater confidence in herself.
As her character develops, AnchoR learns to view her destructive nature not solely as a flaw but as a tool that can be used to protect and to rebuild. This newfound outlook allows her to extend compassion even to her estranged sister TemP, drawing parallels between their respective struggles and acknowledging the shared paths they walk.
Appearance
AnchoR resembles a twelve-year-old girl, with a height of less than 140 cm. She has short black hair styled in a bob and striking red eyes that highlight her youthful but intense appearance.
When entering her special combat mode, her physical form undergoes a dramatic transformation. Her hair extends until it reaches her feet and shifts to a deep, bloody red. She dons a set of black armor and wears a distinctive cube-shaped necklace that transforms into a spiked spherical weapon resembling a flail in her “Bloody Murder” form. During her initial confrontation with Naoto and RyuZU, she also wore a black control mask that complemented her combat design until they freed her from it.
Abilities
Designated as “The One Who Destroys,” AnchoR possesses the most advanced combat mobility and weaponry among the Initial-Y series automata. Her functions and armaments make her one of the most formidable units created.
Bloody Murder
AnchoR’s primary combat ability, known as Bloody Murder, is powered by her unique Perpetual Gear system. This function allows her to operate indefinitely, drawing energy through an automatic winding mechanism without loss. The accumulated energy is stored within her body as heat, which she can then convert into power for dimensional manipulation. This ability enables her to tear through spacetime itself, striking enemies with devastating precision.
Steel Weight
A more advanced evolution of Bloody Murder, Steel Weight represents AnchoR’s most destructive capacity. She activates this ability during a suicide attack against an electromagnetic weapon in Tokyo, demonstrating both its overwhelming power and the extreme risks associated with its use.
Relationships
RyuZU
RyuZU is deeply familiar with AnchoR’s abilities and skills, and regards her youngest sister with great affection. Their reunion in Mie filled RyuZU with joy, though her devotion to Naoto Miura remained her highest priority. When AnchoR initially acted against Naoto under mind control, RyuZU warned that she would destroy her if necessary. Later, upon realizing AnchoR’s actions were not driven by malice, RyuZU chose to believe in her and freed her from the control mask. Their bond is further highlighted when RyuZU honors AnchoR’s request to spare TemP, demonstrating her pride and love for her younger sister.
Naoto Miura
AnchoR refers to Naoto as her “father,” reflecting the depth of her attachment to him. She is profoundly loyal, moved to tears when he released the seal on her free will. Her devotion is such that, when Naoto was captured, she prepared to sacrifice herself in a suicide attack to provide RyuZU an opportunity to rescue him.
Marie Bell Breguet
AnchoR addresses Marie as her “mother,” and shares a close relationship with her. She strives to be useful to Marie, exemplified when she resolved to destroy the electromagnetic weapon in Tokyo despite her Perpetual Gear being nearly depleted, even if it meant giving her life.
TemP
AnchoR loves her third sister, TemP, and is disheartened to witness her fighting with RyuZU. Confused and saddened by their conflict, she intervenes and convinces RyuZU to spare TemP, suggesting that she only be exhausted rather than destroyed, in the hope that she could one day be repaired.
BezEL
As BezEL, the second sister, remains inactive, AnchoR’s relationship with her has not been revealed.
Etymology
The name AnchoR (アンクル, Ankuru) is derived from the English word “anchor.” In mechanical and horological terminology, an anchor is a component in clockwork mechanisms that regulates the motion of gears, symbolizing her connection to the world of automata and timepieces. The stylized capitalization in her designation, with the “R” at the end, follows the naming convention of the Initial-Y series, such as her elder sister RyuZU.
