Azureyfear Winchell (アズライフィア=ウィンチェル, Azuraifia Wincheru), known as the Blue Rose of Winchell (ウィンチェル家の蒼き薔薇, Wincheru-ke no Aoki Bara), is a noblewoman from the prestigious Winchell family and the younger sister of Heivia Winchell. As one of the few daughters born into the heavily patriarchal Winchell lineage, Azureyfear stands out not only for her political significance but also for her intelligence, elegance, and commanding presence within the Legitimacy Kingdom’s aristocracy.
Background

Appearance in Manga
Among Heivia Winchell’s many siblings, Azureyfear was one of the few with whom he was familiar during childhood, remembering her as an adorably kind girl. However, their relationship changed drastically when Heivia began a relationship with a daughter of the rival Vanderbilt family, an act that defied the deeply rooted animosity between the two noble houses.
Though Azureyfear outwardly upheld the Winchell family’s traditional disdain for the Vanderbilts, she secretly admired Heivia’s bold defiance of centuries-old expectations. Nevertheless, she believed that his lack of resolve would eventually jeopardize his ambition to inherit the family estate. Determined to push him into making a definitive choice, she orchestrated a ruthless plan that would force him to choose between the lives of two people dear to him: his lover and his own sister.
To set this plan in motion, Azureyfear converted several of the Winchell family’s private villas into clandestine production sites for the illegal drug Colorful Vanilla. With covert backing from the Information Alliance especially under the influence of Flag Eggnog, who relied on distractions to cover his diplomatic failures she incited a full-scale drug war against the Capitalist Corporations. The profits generated from this conflict were funneled into the construction of her own Object, the Destruction Fes, developed in secret by the Information Alliance.
Azureyfear also established an underground network to support her remote-controlled Object and sustain the drug operation. Despite being only fifth in the Winchell line of succession, she demonstrated considerable ambition, intelligence, and influence within the aristocratic sphere.
Appearance
Azureyfear Winchell is depicted as a striking young noblewoman with long, flowing golden hair, icy blue eyes, and a fair, porcelain complexion. Her usual attire reflects her aristocratic heritage, she is most often seen in an elegant, deep blue dress that complements her noble status and evokes the image of a dignified “blue rose.”
When piloting the Destruction Fes, Azureyfear wears the distinctive full-body suit of a Pilot Elite. This skintight uniform is styled with a unique blend of militaristic utility and funereal elegance, bearing resemblance to mourning garments in shades of blue. It features a long skirt integrated into the design and a sleek visor that conceals her expression, enhancing her mystique and commanding presence on the battlefield.
Personality
Azureyfear Winchell embodies the refined poise and pride often associated with noble lineage, but beneath her composed exterior lies a complex mix of ideals and contradictions. While she outwardly upholds the typical aristocratic view that places nobles above commoners, she also adheres to the principle of noblesse oblige, the belief that privilege demands responsibility. Despite this ideal, she does not hesitate to use ruthless methods, including manipulating large-scale conflicts and risking civilian lives, if it means advancing her objectives.
Her attitude towards her older brother Heivia is typically cold and formal, often laced with subtle barbs. However, her actions suggest the presence of a concealed brother complex. Though she rarely expresses affection openly, Azureyfear secretly admires Heivia’s defiance of the deep-seated rivalry between the Winchell and Vanderbilt families. She views his rebellion as brave, yet lacks the fortitude to offer him public support, instead choosing to orchestrate events from the shadows to test his resolve and character.
Skills and Abilities
Azureyfear Winchell possesses formidable marksmanship skills, honed not through formal military training but likely through elite hunting practices. She is capable of eliminating multiple targets consecutively with a carbine at close to mid-range, even after removing standard military attachments relying solely on a basic scope for precision. Her skill extends to long-range sniping, as demonstrated by a precise headshot from 1,500 meters using an anti-materiel rifle, targeting through a narrow gap between large military vehicles. Her shooting posture is often described as graceful and composed, likened more to a noble hunter stalking prey than to a soldier on the battlefield.
Beyond her sharpshooting, Azureyfear is also an accomplished climber. She claims to scale Mont Blanc twice a year, highlighting her endurance, physical conditioning, and familiarity with natural environments. Her emphasis on the strength and ecological awareness required for hunting supports her portrayal as a noblewoman trained in survivalist techniques. Notably, she withstood the extreme G-forces within the Destruction Fes, a remotely piloted Object during active combat. Surviving such conditions is considered an exceptional feat, even among trained Elites.
Etymology
The surname Winchell may reference the Winchell cocktail, a beverage consisting of cognac brandy, gin, Cointreau, and lemon juice. This drink is named after the American journalist and radio commentator Walter Winchell. The use of such a refined cocktail name may reflect the aristocratic and polished image of the Winchell family within the Heavy Object universe.
The given name Azureyfear is a unique and stylized composition. “Azure” refers to a bright blue color, possibly symbolizing nobility, cold elegance, or her alias “Blue Rose of Winchell.” The suffix “-fear” might be interpreted symbolically, possibly indicating the fearsome or formidable nature that contrasts with her graceful appearance.
