Shiden Iida (シデン・イーダ, Shiden Īda) is a primary supporting character in the 86 -Eighty Six series, first appearing in the light novel volume Run Through the Battlefront. She is a member of the Eighty-Six and serves as the leader of the Brísingamen Squadron, a combat unit tasked with defending the Republic of San Magnolia during a large-scale offensive by the Legion.
Her Personal Name is Cyclops (キュクロプス, Kyukuropsu), a callsign derived from her combat persona and distinctive battlefield presence.
Appearance

Appearance in Anime
Shiden Iida is a tall young woman with light brown skin and short, tousled reddish hair. Her most distinguishing physical trait is her heterochromia, her left eye features a pale, almost white iris, while her right eye is a deep indigo. This unusual contrast gives the impression that only one eye is active, which is the origin of her Personal Name, Cyclops.
Shiden is also noted for her voluptuous figure. Her large bust remains noticeable even beneath her standard military uniform or the heavier Panzer jacket, making her silhouette distinct among fellow soldiers.
Personality
Shiden Iida is a bold and outspoken individual known for her sarcastic wit and provocative humor. She often teases others, sometimes crossing the line into outright provocation. This abrasive streak was evident during her first encounter with Shinei Nouzen, where her taunts quickly escalated into a physical altercation. The fight ended swiftly with Shin overpowering her, but the clash marked the beginning of a tense, ongoing rivalry between the two.
Despite her combative nature, Shiden displays strong leadership qualities and a fierce sense of loyalty to her squadmates, earning her both respect and friction among her peers.
Background
Even before the war, Shiden and her younger sister were treated as outcasts due to their heterochromia, an unusual trait that drew suspicion and ridicule. When the war escalated and they were forcibly relocated to an internment camp alongside other Eighty-Six, the discrimination only worsened. Ironically, instead of finding solidarity, the sisters faced prejudice even within their own marginalized group.
Tragically, Shiden’s younger sister died in the camp from an undetermined cause before she could become a Processor. This loss deeply shaped Shiden’s personality, fueling both her fierce independence and hardened attitude toward others.
Abilities
Combat Skill
Shiden pilots Cyclops, a customized night-raid model Reginleif distinguished by its dark coloration and specialized armament. Unlike standard units, Cyclops replaces the conventional cannon with an 88mm canister shotgun, making it particularly effective in close-quarters combat and capable of wiping out multiple light-class Legion units in a single blast. The setup makes her unit ideal for reconnaissance raids and high-speed assaults under cover of night.
Outside of her machine, Shiden is also proficient in unarmed combat, having received the intensive training expected of a Name Bearer. However, her skills fall short when compared to elite fighters like Shinei Nouzen. During their match to determine leadership within the Strike Package, she managed to land a few moves while Shin was holding back, but was quickly overpowered once he got serious.
