Mirai Momoyama (桃山みらい, Momoyama Mirai) is the main protagonist of the anime series Kiratto Pri☆Chan. She is a third-year student at Kirarigaoka Middle School and an aspiring idol known for her sweet and cheerful demeanor. Mirai is classified as a Lovely-type idol, and her preferred fashion brand is Sweet Honey, which complements her bright and optimistic personality. She is often recognized by her signature catchphrase, “Kiratto☆”, which reflects her sparkling enthusiasm and charm on stage.

Appearance

Mirai Momoyama is a cheerful and youthful girl with a soft, feminine appearance. Her hair is a vibrant peach-pink shade, styled into a high ponytail that curls at the end, with shoulder-length forelocks that mirror the curl. Her bangs are neatly parted into three sections, framing her face, and she has a distinctive curled cowlick on the side of her head.

Outside of her school uniform, Mirai typically wears cute and girlish outfits that reflect her Lovely-type idol aesthetic. Her fashion choices are often bright, pastel-toned, and styled with ribbons, lace, or heart motifs, in line with her signature brand, Sweet Honey.

Personality

Mirai Momoyama is a sweet-natured and energetic girl known for her cheerful disposition and caring heart. While she can be somewhat clumsy at times, she is always thoughtful and attentive to the emotional needs of those around her. Whenever her friends are feeling down, she does her best to lift their spirits often relying on her signature charm, the “Kira Smile”, a heartwarming expression she inherited from her mother. Unlike her mother, who wields it in moments of frustration, Mirai uses her Kira Smile to encourage happiness and spread positivity.

At the beginning of the series, Mirai is portrayed as someone who often goes along with the plans of others particularly her more outgoing friend, Emo due to her reluctance to inconvenience anyone. However, as the story progresses, she gradually gains confidence and begins to take initiative, demonstrating leadership and growth, notably during major events like the Jewel Auditions and the Princess Cup.

One of Mirai’s most admirable traits is her ability to recognize and appreciate the unique qualities in others. She naturally sees the best in people and helps them realize what makes them special, making her a unifying and uplifting presence among her peers.

Despite being competitors, Mirai maintains a sense of respect and admiration for Anna’s presence in the idol world.

Etymology

The surname Momoyama (桃山) is composed of the kanji momo (桃), meaning “peach,” and yama (山), meaning “mountain.” The use of “momo” likely references Mirai’s peach-pink hair and her overall pink-themed aesthetic, a naming pattern shared among several characters in the series.

Her given name, Mirai (みらい), translates to “future” in Japanese, reflecting her optimistic personality and her forward-looking role as an idol who brings hope and inspiration to others.
