Kojuro Shuri (朱里 小十郎, Shuri Kojūrō), is a supporting character in the anime and manga series Masamune-kun no Revenge. He is the best friend and classmate of Masamune Makabe, often acting as the level-headed counterpart to Masamune’s emotionally charged personality. Despite his gentle and androgynous appearance, Kojuro is a sincere and thoughtful young man who plays an essential role in supporting Masamune’s revenge plan though often unknowingly.
Kojuro is also known for his unrequited crush on Neko Fujinomiya, which adds a quiet but emotional subplot to the series’ otherwise dramatic and comedic tone.
Background

Appearance in Anime
Kojuro attends the same high school as Masamune Makabe and quickly becomes his closest companion after Masamune transfers in. Although he is not aware of Masamune’s full revenge plot against Aki Adagaki, Kojuro consistently offers support, encouragement, and calm advice, acting as a moral anchor throughout Masamune’s increasingly complicated schemes.
He comes from a modest background and is characterized by his humble personality and soft-spoken nature, which sometimes leads others to mistake him for a girl something he accepts with slight embarrassment.
Appearance
Kojuro has a slim build and delicate features, including shoulder-length dark hair often worn in a tidy ponytail and large, expressive eyes. His androgynous appearance is frequently the source of confusion and jokes, as strangers and classmates often mistake him for a girl.
He typically wears his school uniform neatly and carries himself with polite modesty. His expressions are often warm or slightly anxious, particularly in emotional or socially awkward moments.
Personality
Kojuro is kind, patient, and emotionally mature, often acting as the voice of reason when Masamune becomes too focused on his revenge scheme. He is trustworthy and compassionate, always willing to lend a hand or offer support, even when he doesn’t fully understand the situation.
Despite his soft demeanor, Kojuro is not passive. He stands up for what he believes in and is surprisingly resilient when faced with teasing or misjudgment. His unspoken love for Neko Fujinomiya showcases his deep emotional sensitivity, though he rarely confronts his feelings directly.
Role in the Story
Masamune’s Confidant: Kojuro serves as Masamune’s closest friend, providing emotional balance and serving as an anchor to reality. Although not aware of the full extent of Masamune’s revenge plan, he supports him out of loyalty and concern.
Comic Relief and Misunderstandings: Due to his appearance, Kojuro is often involved in comedic misunderstandings, especially when people mistake him for a girl. These moments offer levity in the more dramatic parts of the story and help highlight Kojuro’s calm, adaptive nature.
Feelings for Neko: Kojuro harbors quiet affection for Neko Fujinomiya, though he struggles to express it openly. His love remains unrequited, adding a bittersweet layer to his otherwise gentle character arc.
Relationships
Masamune Makabe: Kojuro is Masamune’s best friend, providing consistent emotional and moral support. Though Masamune often acts impulsively, Kojuro helps balance him with advice and kindness. Their friendship is deep and genuine, even when tested by secrets and tension.
Neko Fujinomiya: Kojuro has a one-sided crush on Neko, admiring her beauty and kindness. Though she is largely unaware of his feelings, he continues to support her from the background, demonstrating his selfless nature.
Aki Adagaki and Others: Kojuro interacts warmly with the rest of the cast, though he tends to remain on the sidelines. His friendly and accommodating personality makes him well-liked, even if he doesn’t always take center stage.
