Destiny

Destiny (運命, Unmei), is a central character in the anime series Takt op. Destiny. She is a Musicart—a being born of classical music named after Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 in C Minor, Op. 67. Initially awakened inside Cosette Schneider, Destiny later reawakens within Anna Schneider after the events of Episode 12, where Anna receives the F-hole of the original Destiny. As a Musicart, Destiny harnesses the power of classical music to battle against the D2, destructive creatures that threaten to wipe out music and humanity alike.

With her striking presence and evolving identity, Destiny represents both power and tragedy, embodying the dual essence of music as both a weapon and a source of emotional resonance.

Appearance in Anime

Destiny was first awakened when Cosette Schneider a cheerful young woman close to Takt Asahina was fatally wounded during a D2 attack at a music festival. Her body became the vessel for Destiny, transforming Cosette into a Musicart. However, this transformation caused a split between the Musicart’s personality and Cosette’s original self, leaving Destiny emotionally detached and unaware of her host’s former identity.

Following intense battles and personal loss, Destiny’s existence inside Cosette ended with the destruction of her physical form. Yet, her F-hole, a symbolic core of the Musicart, survived. In the final episode of the anime, Anna Schneider, Cosette’s older sister, comes into possession of this relic. When she makes contact, Destiny is reawakened inside Anna, signifying a new beginning, and potentially a future where her power is reclaimed with new resolve.

Appearance

Destiny is depicted as an elegant young woman with a regal and military-like aesthetic, fitting her origin in Beethoven’s intense and iconic symphony. She has crimson red hair tied into twin braids, golden eyes, and wears a striking red and white battle dress with musical motifs and a black bow. Her outfit features ornamental patterns reminiscent of classical instruments, reflecting her essence as a being of music.

Her most prominent accessory is her sword-rifle hybrid weapon, which she conjures during combat. The energy emitted from her attacks often takes the form of crimson and gold musical pulses.

Personality

When Destiny first awakens inside Cosette, she is stoic, logical, and emotionally detached, acting purely on the instincts of a Musicart. She speaks in a direct, matter-of-fact tone and often misunderstands emotional nuances or social cues. Her personality sharply contrasts with Cosette’s formerly bright and bubbly demeanor.

Over time, Destiny begins to develop emotional complexity, influenced by her interactions with Takt and his unwavering drive to restore music to the world. She shows signs of care, curiosity, and self-awareness, especially in moments of vulnerability.

With her reawakening inside Anna, Destiny’s future personality is left open-ended, but her second life suggests the potential for a more emotionally connected existence, forged from Anna’s enduring love for Cosette and her determination to fight for what was lost.

Role in the Story

First Awakening – Cosette Schneider: Destiny is first born from Cosette’s death in a D2 attack. As a Musicart, she becomes Takt Asahina’s partner in battle, protecting humanity from the D2 menace. Despite her coldness, Destiny plays a critical role in shaping Takt’s growth, and their bond gradually evolves as she begins to reflect remnants of Cosette’s warmth.

Sacrifice and Rebirth: Destiny’s body is ultimately destroyed during the climactic events of the series. However, her F-hole survives, and is later absorbed by Anna Schneider. This leads to a new awakening, with Destiny now taking root inside Anna’s body—signaling the continuation of her existence and a powerful symbol of legacy, love, and rebirth.

Relationships

Takt Asahina: Destiny’s Conductor and partner. Though their initial relationship is purely tactical, Destiny begins to develop feelings and empathy for Takt, mirroring Cosette’s affection. Takt, in turn, grows to care deeply for her not only as a comrade in battle but as someone carrying the essence of a lost loved one.

Cosette Schneider: The original host of Destiny’s awakening. Cosette’s death gave birth to Destiny, and traces of Cosette’s personality subtly remain within Destiny, creating emotional tension and layered complexity in her actions.

Anna Schneider: Cosette’s older sister and Destiny’s new host following Episode 12. Anna had always been protective of Cosette and now becomes the next to carry Destiny’s legacy. Her bond with Destiny represents both closure and continuation, merging grief with renewed hope.
