Zhuge Liang (諸葛 亮), also known by his courtesy name “Kongming” (孔明), is the deuteragonist of the anime and manga series Ya Boy Kongming! (Paripi Kōmei). He is a legendary Chinese strategist and statesman from the Three Kingdoms Period, formerly serving as the Chancellor of Shu Han. Revered as one of the greatest minds of his era, Kongming is unexpectedly reincarnated into modern-day Tokyo, finding himself in the heart of Japan’s nightlife scene. There, he meets aspiring singer Eiko Tsukimi, and decides to use his unmatched military genius to become her tactical manager in the music industry.
His character is a humorous and heartfelt blend of historical reverence and modern absurdity, bringing classical wisdom into a contemporary world of clubs, concerts, and social media.

Zhuge Liang lived during the turbulent Three Kingdoms Period of ancient China and is renowned in history as a brilliant military strategist, inventor, and advisor. As the Chancellor of Shu Han, he served under Liu Bei, playing a key role in the unification efforts of the Shu kingdom. His life, however, ended at the Battle of the Wuzhang Plains, where he died from overwork and illness.
On his deathbed, filled with regret over the endless wars and unfulfilled dreams of peace, Kongming made a final wish: to be reborn in a world free from conflict. That wish is mysteriously granted as he awakens in modern-day Shibuya, Tokyo, in the middle of a Halloween party, initially assuming it is some version of hell due to the wild costumes and bright lights.

Kongming retains his traditional Chinese attire, wearing elegant robes, a feathered fan, and a Taoist hat, causing many in Tokyo to mistake him for a dedicated cosplayer. His sharp facial features, calm demeanor, and classical speech patterns set him apart in the modern crowd.
