Kota was born and raised in the Fenrir Far East Branch, living with his mother and younger sister in the outer residential areas. Motivated by a desire to protect his family from Aragami attacks, he enlisted as a God Eater, despite lacking any significant combat experience.

Early on, he struggled with confidence and combat efficiency, often being seen as the team’s comic relief. However, through his missions with the Protagonist and the 1st Unit, he gradually honed his skills, leadership, and combat instincts.

By the time of God Eater 2, Kota has matured significantly, taking on the role of captain for the 1st Unit. Though still retaining his friendly and easygoing personality, he has become a skilled strategist and a reliable leader, respected by his peers.

Kota has a casual and approachable appearance, with short brown hair, brown eyes, and a lean build. His outfits often reflect his relaxed and carefree nature, usually consisting of a hoodie or military-style jacket, paired with fingerless gloves and combat pants.

In God Eater 2, his design changes to reflect his promotion to captain, featuring a more tactical and mature outfit, emphasizing his newfound authority and experience.

Kota is optimistic, friendly, and slightly immature, often acting as the comic relief in tense situations. He has a big heart and is deeply loyal to his friends, always putting their well-being above his own. Despite his cheerful exterior, he carries a strong sense of responsibility, particularly regarding his family and the safety of civilians.

Initially, Kota struggles with self-doubt and often compares himself to stronger fighters like Lindow Amamiya and Soma Schicksal. However, as he gains experience, he learns to trust his own abilities and becomes a competent leader in his own right.

His most defining moment in God Eater Burst comes when he protects civilians and his teammates during an unexpected Aragami attack, showcasing his innate bravery and selflessness.
