Appearance in Anime

Kabeyama Heigorou has a large, round build, with notably thinner legs below the knees. His tanned skin, combined with his dark green, smooth afro and curled-inward sideburns, gives him a distinct appearance. He has small, round black eyes, large lips, and a rounded triangular nose, which is a slightly darker shade than the rest of his skin. One of his most recognizable features is his lack of a visible forehead, as his hair and eyes meet at the top of his face. Despite being young, Kabeyama also sports a green, square-shaped goatee, adding to his unique look.

His casual outfit, first seen in Episode 6, consists of an orange shirt with purple sleeves, khaki shorts, and white socks, giving him a laid-back and sporty appearance.

In Inazuma Eleven GO, Kabeyama retains his large build, though he has grown taller. His hair has expanded, wrapping around his entire head except for his face and ears, making his head resemble a smooth oval. His goatee has also grown, now extending from his bottom lip in a rectangular shape. His updated attire includes a blue shirt, a khaki jacket, trousers, and gray sneakers, reflecting a more mature look.

In the alternative timeline, his casual outfit consists of a yellowish-orange T-shirt with a mountain imprint, paired with grayish-brown shorts, white socks, and blue sneakers, maintaining his signature relaxed style.

Personality

Despite his large stature, Kabeyama Heigorou is a shy, bashful, and timid individual. In the early episodes of Inazuma Eleven, he often avoids matches by making excuses, such as disappearing to the bathroom or hiding somewhere due to nervousness. He initially struggles with self-confidence and has a strong fear of heights, which frequently hinders his performance. However, through his determination and the encouragement of his teammates, particularly Endou Mamoru, he is able to overcome his fears and grow as a player.

Kabeyama deeply respects Endou, seeing him not only as a captain but also as a best friend and source of motivation. Endou often pushes him to face his fears, helping him develop both mentally and physically as a defender. Despite his growth, Kabeyama is still shown to be easily discouraged and tends to give up quickly when faced with difficulties. He also has trouble adapting to change, making it difficult for him to adjust to new strategies or unexpected challenges on the field. However, when he finds inner confidence, he becomes a formidable defender, proving his importance to the team.

Kabeyama is one of the original members of Raimon’s soccer club, recruited by Endou Mamoru when the team was struggling to find players. Initially, he was reluctant to play soccer due to his fears, but after realizing his natural defensive talents, he embraced his role as a key defender.

As Raimon’s journey continued, Kabeyama became an essential part of the team’s defense, especially when blocking powerful shots from rival teams. His determination and gradual confidence growth allowed him to earn a place in Inazuma Japan, proving himself on the international stage.
