Kokomi Teruhashi (照橋 心美, Teruhashi Kokomi), is one of the main characters in Saiki Kusuo no Psi-nan (The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.). She is universally admired for her beauty, intelligence, and charm, often described as the perfect girl. Everywhere she goes, people stop and stare in awe, showering her with endless compliments and admiration. However, the one person who refuses to acknowledge her perfection is Kusuo Saiki, leading her to develop a growing obsession with gaining his attention.
Though initially motivated by pride, Kokomi slowly develops genuine feelings for Kusuo, as his indifference toward her makes her curious, frustrated, and intrigued. She was portrayed by Kanna Hashimoto in the Saiki Kusuo no Psi-nan live-action film.
Background

Appearance in anime
From a young age, Kokomi was praised for her beauty, leading her to develop an awareness of her own attractiveness. People around her always treated her like a goddess, granting her special treatment simply because of her appearance and charm. As a result, she became accustomed to admiration, believing that it was natural for everyone to be mesmerized by her.
Her entire worldview is shaken when she meets Kusuo Saiki, the only person who does not react to her presence. His complete indifference frustrates her, causing her to go out of her way to make him notice her. What starts as a simple game of pride soon turns into genuine attraction, as she finds herself wanting his approval for real.
Despite initially being self-absorbed, Kokomi gradually develops as a person, showing that she is more than just a pretty face. She becomes more self-aware, recognizing that true worth is not just about external beauty, and begins to value deeper connections.
Appearance
Kokomi is a stunningly beautiful high school girl with long, silky blue hair and bright blue eyes. She has flawless skin, a well-proportioned figure, and a naturally elegant aura, making her stand out wherever she goes.
Her usual attire is the standard PK Academy uniform, consisting of a green jacket, white blouse, and green skirt. Even in casual outfits, she radiates a model-like presence, always well-dressed and effortlessly graceful.
Her beauty is so overwhelmingly powerful that it stops people in their tracks, with background characters often saying “Ohhh! Teruhashi-san!” whenever she passes by.
Personality
Kokomi appears to be kind, elegant, and perfect, but deep down, she is aware of her own beauty and enjoys the attention she receives. She is prideful and expects adoration from everyone, often thinking to herself “I’m so perfect” whenever people fawn over her.
However, her pride is challenged when Kusuo shows no interest in her, leading her to become fixated on making him acknowledge her beauty. While her initial attempts are self-serving, she slowly develops real feelings for him, transitioning from wanting attention to genuinely caring about his opinion.
Despite her self-centered tendencies, Kokomi is not a bad person she is generally kind, sociable, and considerate, treating others nicely unless they directly challenge her ego. Over time, she becomes more humble, realizing that beauty alone does not define a person, and starts to genuinely care about those around her.
She is also secretly insecure, fearing that if she loses her beauty, she will lose her identity. This vulnerability makes her more human and relatable, showing that even the most “perfect” people have their own struggles.
Role in the Story
-
Trying to Make Kusuo Notice Her
Kokomi’s main comedic role in the series is her endless attempts to get Kusuo to acknowledge her beauty. While every other person in the world is enchanted by her, Kusuo remains completely uninterested, much to her frustration and confusion. This leads her to try different tactics, from fake coincidences to elaborate setups, all in an effort to make him say “Ohhh!” like everyone else. -
Genuine Feelings for Kusuo
At first, Kokomi sees Kusuo’s indifference as a challenge, but as time passes, she finds herself genuinely liking him. Unlike others who worship her looks, Kusuo treats her like a normal person, which she secretly appreciates. This shift in emotions makes her question her own priorities, leading her to develop a more sincere personality. -
Becoming More Than Just a Pretty Face
Throughout the series, Kokomi gradually matures, realizing that her beauty is not the only thing that defines her. She becomes more introspective, learning to appreciate true friendships and meaningful relationships rather than just external validation.
Relationships
Kusuo Saiki
Kokomi develops a deep infatuation with Kusuo, primarily because he is the only person who does not worship her beauty. While she initially wants his attention for her ego, she slowly falls in love with him for real, appreciating his calm, composed nature. Kusuo, on the other hand, actively avoids her, seeing her attention-seeking behavior as a nuisance. He uses his psychic powers to escape interactions with her, but Kokomi mistakes his avoidance as mysterious behavior, making her even more determined to win him over.
Chiyo Yumehara
Chiyo and Kokomi start off as rivals, as both have romantic interests in Kusuo. However, they later develop a genuine friendship, bonding over typical high school girl topics. Unlike Kokomi, Chiyo is more openly dramatic about romance, which sometimes amuses and annoys Kokomi at the same time.
Aren Kuboyasu
Aren respects Kokomi’s ability to stay composed, as she is one of the few people who doesn’t provoke his temper. While they don’t interact much, Aren occasionally reminds others that Kokomi is more than just her looks, showing that he sees her growth as a person.
Shun Kaidou
Shun believes that Kokomi is too perfect to be real, sometimes suspecting that she might be part of a greater conspiracy. Kokomi, however, pays little attention to him, seeing him as just another classmate.
