Vincent Law arrives in Romdeau as an immigrant from Mosk, a destroyed dome city. Like many immigrants, he works a menial job—in his case, as part of an AutoReiv elimination unit—hoping to earn citizenship in the strictly hierarchical society of Romdeau. Despite his hard work, Vincent is ostracized and treated as an outsider by the city’s residents, leading him to repress much of his identity in an effort to conform.

Vincent’s life changes irrevocably when Monad Proxy, a mysterious being, awakens and begins wreaking havoc. Falsely accused of crimes and labeled a threat to the city, Vincent is forced to flee Romdeau. Along the way, he is accompanied by Pino, an infected AutoReiv, and later joined by Re-L Mayer, an investigator drawn into the mystery of the Proxies.

As Vincent ventures beyond the safety of Romdeau’s walls, he gradually uncovers the truth about his past, his connection to the Proxies, and the role he is destined to play in humanity’s future.
