Makoto’s debut in the Sailor Moon series is memorable. She stands up to a group of boys bullying Usagi in Episode 25. Her transfer to Juban Middle School had sparked rumors of a violent past, which Usagi learns from Umino. After visiting the arcade, Makoto encounters Joe, a boy who reminds her of someone from her past. Following Joe outside, she witnesses him being attacked by Zoisite. In another episode, Makoto and Minako’s friendship is tested when they develop crushes on the same man, Mr. Honjo. The situation escalates when CereCere targets him, prompting the two Senshi to reconcile and work together to protect him and his son.
