Her surname, Okudera, combines the characters for “back” or “inner part” (奥) (oku) and “temple” (寺) (tera/dera), suggesting a connection to depth and spirituality. Following her marriage, her name changes to Fujii, where 藤 (fuji) means “wisteria,” a flower often associated with grace, and 井 (i) denotes “well” or “mine shaft,” hinting at something foundational or deep-rooted.
