Appearance
Julius Novachrono was a tall, middle-aged man with short, messy blond hair and striking purple eyes. One of his most notable features was the blue six-pointed star on the left side of his forehead, which vanished upon his death.
Julius’s attire consisted of a white shirt with a high collar, trimmed with black fur and intricate gold and purple designs. The sleeves were long with light purple cuffs, also adorned with black fur. Gold ring-shaped ornaments decorated both the upper and lower parts of the sleeves. He paired this with brown pants and high boots with black fur collars.
Over this, Julius wore a long red robe that covered his entire body, with white fur across his torso. On top of the fur, he wore a gold necklace and two medals—a gold medal with a green cross on the left and a shield-shaped medal with gold and red colors on the right. His robe had a single sleeve for his right arm.
During his time as a captain of the Grey Deer squad, Julius wore the squad’s robe over a longer robe.
After reviving himself with his stored time, Julius physically regressed to the appearance of a 13-year-old boy. He became much shorter, with longer, shaggier hair. He wore smaller versions of his previous clothing to fit his new size. Six months later, his hair remained shaggy, and he wore a dark-colored jacket with a high collar, light-colored shorts, and a collared cape that tied at the neck.

Personality
Julius Novachrono has an intense obsession with magic, often displaying a childlike excitement whenever he encounters new types of magic. His enthusiasm for exploring magic leads him to roam the kingdom in disguise, allowing him to search for unique magical abilities without being recognized.
Julius’s playful nature also causes him to neglect his duties as the Wizard King at times. He has a habit of leaving important tasks or intentionally placing high-ranking and low-ranking Magic Knights together, aware that conflicts will arise. Despite this, Julius is wise and knowledgeable, especially regarding magic and social dynamics. He demonstrates this understanding when he recognizes rare artifacts or offers valuable insights about the responsibilities of being the Wizard King to Asta and Yuno.
Julius does not judge people by their social standing, treating all Magic Knights equally, whether they are commoners like Asta and Yuno or nobles. His inspiration comes from Zara Ideale, the first commoner to become a Magic Knight, whose dedication to defending the Clover Kingdom left a lasting impact on Julius. This deep love for the people of his kingdom is evident in Julius’s final moments, as he reflected with gratitude on the variety of magic and people he had encountered. His willingness to fight the leader of the Eye of the Midnight Sun, Patolli, without intent to kill, and using his stored magic to protect the capital city, further highlights his deep care for his people and country.

Julius Novachrono wieldsTime Magic, a rare and powerful attribute that allows him to manipulate the flow of time. He can accelerate, decelerate, stop, or even reverse time. This ability extends to healing injuries by reversing the time on his own and others’ wounds, effectively undoing damage. Due to the unusual and powerful nature ofTime Magic, which is linked to a devil, Julius is classified as anArcane Stagemage, granting him special status in the magical hierarchy.

Immense Speed
Julius possesses extraordinary speed, as seen when he instantly appears between two Eye of the Midnight Sun mages and kills them before they can react. He easily dodges attacks from opponents like Sally and George and even outmaneuvers Patolli, a Light Magic user, dodging the elf’s quick strikes with ease.
Immense Magic Power
As the Wizard King and the strongest Magic Knight in the Clover Kingdom, Julius has immense magic power. His Time Magic allows him to “steal time” from his targets, storing it as reserves for future use. This ability grants him vast amounts of magic power, enabling him to perform large-scale spells, such as one that covers the entirety of the Clover Kingdom. Before his death, Julius had saved up thirteen years’ worth of time.
Mana Zone
Julius can control all the mana in his surroundings, increasing the power and range of his spells. By combining this with Time Magic, he can manipulate the flow of mana to foresee incoming attacks. However, while he can predict his enemy’s next move, physical limitations may still hinder his reactions.
Devil-Possessed
Julius is host to the devil Astaroth, who grants him immense power and access to Time Magic, further elevating his abilities beyond those of a normal Magic Knight.
