Despite his usually composed disposition, Mitsuya has shown moments of frustration, such as when he became visibly angry with Takemichi for losing focus during a critical moment, urging him to stay determined and strong.

Mitsuya is deeply devoted to his two younger sisters, Luna and Mana, acting as both a father and mother figure to them, given their mother’s frequent absence due to work. His sense of responsibility towards his siblings showcases his nurturing and caring side, adding depth to his character as a protector both within his family and the gang.

In the final timeline, Izana’s personality remained largely the same until his defeat by Toman and his subsequent integration into the gang. After Toman’s disbandment, Izana reformed Tenjiku into an organization that provided support to orphans, gaining global recognition and influence. This marked a significant change in Izana, as he used his power to aid those who, like him, had faced difficult circumstances.

History

From a young age, Takashi Mitsuya took on the responsibility of caring for his two younger sisters, Luna and Mana Mitsuya, as their mother was frequently away due to work. He handled most of the household chores and essentially became both a protector and caretaker for his family.

One day, while walking with his sisters in a playground, Mitsuya witnessed Hakkai Shiba engaging in a violent confrontation, beating someone up. Mitsuya intervened, stopping Hakkai and imparting his belief that violence should only be used to protect others. This encounter marked the beginning of their friendship. Mitsuya invited Hakkai to his home, and from that day on, Hakkai admired Mitsuya, viewing him as an ideal older brother figure.

On rare occasions, Mitsuya would sneak out at night, leaving his sisters behind. During one of these outings, he was graffitiing a dragon on a wall when he was unknowingly observed by Ken Ryuguji (Draken). After finishing his graffiti, Mitsuya found himself eating all of Draken’s food, which led Draken to suggest that the dragon graffiti would be his in exchange for the meal. Draken then took Mitsuya to his home, where Mitsuya met the girls living at the brothel. After easily winning a game of poker with Draken and the girls, Mitsuya expressed his desire to live with them. However, one of the women reprimanded him, explaining that the brothel wasn’t a place he could simply stay at. Draken echoed her sentiments, reminding Mitsuya of the reality of their lives.

Several months later, Mitsuya and Draken crossed paths again, only to discover that they both had matching dragon tattoos. From this point on, they became known as the “Twin Dragons,” solidifying their bond.

Mitsuya eventually grew close to the other founding members of the Tokyo Manji Gang (Toman), forming strong friendships with them even before Toman was officially established.
