Appearance

Toshinori Yagi, once known asAll Might, was a towering and muscular figure with bright blue eyes and short, swept-back blond hair, embodying the classic superhero image. His Golden Age hero costume featured a skin-tight blue suit with a bold red “Y” symbol, gold sleeves, and boots, enhancing his powerful physique as theSymbol of Peace. However, after a brutal battle withAll For One, Toshinori’s body was drastically weakened, leaving him gaunt, with sunken features, blackened eyes, and a large scar across his chest. He began wearing baggy clothes to hide the drastic difference between his empowered and true form.

During theFinal War, Toshinori donned theArmored All Might, a mechanized suit resembling his old hero costume, to fight again. Though the suit was destroyed, and his legs were crushed, Toshinori survived thanks to Katsuki and Izuku. In the post-war years, he regained some of his former appearance, including his bright eyes and eyebrows, though age had left him more wrinkled. Eight years later, he walks again and remains a symbol of hope, despite the toll of battle.

Clothing

In his later years, after his battle withAll For One, Toshinori began wearing baggy clothing to accommodate the drastic difference between his true, weakened form and his muscular hero transformation. During theFinal War, he donned theArmored All Might, a high-tech mechanical suit resembling his original costume, but more functional and defensive. The suit, equipped with robotic parts, was eventually destroyed in battle, leaving him bound to a wheelchair while he recovered from his injuries.

Hero Costumes

Golden Age Hero Costume: All Might’s original hero costume was a skin-tight blue bodysuit featuring a red “Y” symbol with white accents that traced across his chest and back. The suit had gold forearm sleeves with spiked fins, shin-length gold boots trimmed with white and red accents, and a gold belt with a silver buckle. This design highlighted All Might’s larger-than-life persona, emphasizing his muscular and heroic stature.

Post-Injury Clothing: After sustaining life-threatening injuries in his battle with All For One, Toshinori adopted a baggy clothing style to account for the drastic change between his emaciated true form and his muscular hero form. After his retirement, Toshinori began wearing clothes that fit his regular form more appropriately, no longer needing oversized outfits for his transformation.

Armored All Might: During the Final War, Toshinori donned a mechanical suit of armor called theArmored All Might. The suit was modeled after his original hero costume and consisted of several detachable robotic pieces that provided enhanced protection. This armor covered his entire body, except for his mouth, allowing him to maintain his iconic smile while in battle. The suit was eventually destroyed in his final confrontation, leaving him severely injured and wheelchair-bound.

Post-War Changes

After the final war, Toshinori Yagi, formerly All Might, underwent significant changes due to his injuries and the passage of time:

  • Physical Condition: All Might’s body was left severely damaged after his final confrontation with All For One. His legs were crushed, confining him to a wheelchair while he recovered from his injuries. However, eight years after the war, Toshinori regained his ability to walk, though he showed visible signs of aging with more wrinkles around his face.

  • Eyes and Appearance: Following the battle, All Might’s eyes, which had previously turned dark due to his injuries, regained their natural white sclerae, similar to his youthful appearance. His iconic smile and bushy eyebrows also returned, symbolizing his enduring spirit despite his weakened condition.

  • Armored Suit: During the final confrontation with All For One, All Might wore a mechanical suit known asArmored All Might, designed to resemble his original hero costume. The suit provided enhanced protection, but was ultimately destroyed during the battle, leaving him heavily injured and marking the end of his hero activities.

Personality

All Might’s personality is a blend of exuberant heroism and deep selflessness. As a Pro Hero, he embodies the stereotypical superhero with an infectious smile and dramatic flair, always aiming to save lives while inspiring hope. His mentor, Nana Shimura, ingrained in him the importance of smiling in the face of danger, which became his trademark as he rose to become the Symbol of Peace. Despite his fame, All Might remains humble, interacting with fans and citizens with warmth and kindness. His heroic persona is optimistic and larger-than-life, but it serves as a mask to hide his vulnerabilities and fears, especially after sustaining life-threatening injuries from his battle with All For One.

In contrast, his true form reveals a more reserved, solemn side. When he’s not in his empowered state, Toshinori Yagi is physically frail and tends to avoid attention, yet he remains a pillar of wisdom and guidance for his students, especially Izuku Midoriya. All Might has a deep sense of responsibility, often prioritizing others’ safety over his own well-being, which eventually takes a toll on his health and personal life. His selflessness and strong desire to mentor the next generation of heroes, particularly Izuku, drive him to push his limits both as a hero and a teacher, even when faced with his declining strength and the inevitable passing of the hero torch.

Despite his struggles with self-doubt and the pressure of maintaining his symbolic status, All Might’s fatherly care for his students remains unwavering. His mentorship style balances tough love and encouragement, always aiming to bring out the best in his students, even if it means pushing them to their limits. Through his trials and eventual retirement, All Might continues to be a beacon of hope and an enduring inspiration to those around him.

Overall Abilities

As the former No. 1 hero and Symbol of Peace, All Might was renowned as the strongest hero in the world, maintaining peace and stability across Japan through his immense power. His Quirk,One For All, granted him unmatched strength, speed, and durability, allowing him to defeat the world’s most powerful villain, All For One, twice. Despite suffering a severe injury that limited his power, All Might continued to fight with remarkable skill and determination. Even after passingOne For Allto Izuku Midoriya, All Might remained capable of immense feats, showcasing his strength and abilities in his final battle against All For One, using up the last embers of his Quirk.

Indomitable Will

All Might’s strength of will is one of his defining characteristics. His unwavering resolve to be the Symbol of Peace, coupled with his refusal to give in to despair, allowed him to push beyond his limits time and again. This is especially evident during his final battles with All For One, where he drew on his inner strength to overcome psychological attacks and physical exhaustion, ultimately securing victory despite his diminishing power. All Might’s presence alone inspired confidence in civilians and terror in villains, making him a true beacon of hope.

Teaching

All Might in his normal state, casually dressed in a jacket while at U.A. High School, blending his role as a mentor with his approachable personality.

Though initially inexperienced, All Might developed into a capable mentor, particularly for Izuku. He designed effective training regimens, such as helping Izuku build the physical strength required to inheritOne For All. His practical approach to hero training emphasized teamwork and real-world challenges, preparing Class 1-A students for the realities of hero work. After his retirement, All Might continued to refine his teaching skills, offering valuable guidance and insights to help his students grow as heroes.

Former Quirk

One For All (ワン・フォー・オール Wan Fō Ōru?): This Quirk, transferred to All Might from his mentor Nana Shimura, allowed Toshinori Yagi to store an immense amount of power, enhancing all of his physical abilities to superhuman levels. It granted him extraordinary strength, speed, agility, and durability, making him the most powerful hero in the world. All Might was unique among One For All users in his near-instant mastery of the Quirk, and his ability to transform into a towering, muscular form, which helped him maintain a secret identity. Even after suffering a debilitating injury and transferring the Quirk to Izuku Midoriya, All Might remained capable of incredible feats using the residual power of One For All.

Although he no longer possessesOne For All, Toshinori still retains a psychic link to the Quirk. His consciousness was imprinted in the vestige world ofOne For All, allowing him to provide guidance and share information with the other vestiges and Izuku. This connection mirrors the way All For One communicates with Tomura Shigaraki.

Immense Strength and Speed

All Might making a powerful entrance onto the battlefield, exuding confidence and determination, ready to face any challenge in his iconic heroic style.

In his prime, All Might’s strength was unmatched. His punches could not only defeat powerful villains but also create shockwaves strong enough to change the weather and destroy city blocks. Even in his weakened state, he demonstrated strength comparable to a nuclear bomb, as seen when he defeated the Nomu at U.S.J. Despite his injuries, All Might could still move at incredible speeds, covering vast distances in seconds and incapacitating enemies in the blink of an eye. His power was significantly reduced after his injury, but even then, his capabilities were far beyond those of any other hero.

Durability and Stamina

All Might’s durability was nearly unparalleled. He could take powerful attacks, such as Katsuki’s full-power explosions and All For One’s enhanced Air Cannon, without sustaining significant damage. In his prime, All Might displayed almost endless stamina, able to engage in hero work for over 72 consecutive hours without showing signs of fatigue. Even after his injury, he remained capable of enduring long battles against powerful foes, though at a cost to his body due to the reduced time he could use his muscle form.

Equipment

  • Costume Zeta(コスチュームZゼータ,Kosuchūmu Zēta): The sixth version of Izuku’s hero costume, introduced after his previous outfit was severely damaged. This version retains the essential features of earlier iterations, including improved arm bracers and iron soles. Notably, the hood is removed, replaced by Gran Torino’s cape, which he now wears as a scarf. The mask, though damaged, remains part of the ensemble.

  • Iron Soles(アイアンソール,Aiansōru): These are special soles designed by Mei Hatsume to enhance Izuku’s kicking power. They absorb the impact of his kicks and redistribute the kinetic energy, amplifying the strength of each strike. Izuku requested these as part of his transition to a kick-focused fighting style.

  • Air Force Gloves: Designed by Mei, these gloves allow Izuku to channel pressurized air blasts by flicking his fingers, enabling him to perform long-range attacks with One For All. After being destroyed in the fight against Tomura Shigaraki, Izuku later receives an upgraded version from Mei.

  • Mid-Gauntlet(ミッドガントレット,Middo Gantoretto): Created after the Paranormal Liberation War, this device allows Izuku to safely use higher percentages of One For All without damaging his body. The gauntlet can handle significant power output, but breaks under 100% usage. It was partially destroyed in the battle with Lady Nagant but was later replaced with new replicas.

  • Full Gauntlet(フルガントレット,Furu Gantoretto): Originally created by Melissa Shield, the Full Gauntlet was designed to help Izuku safely utilize One For All’s power at higher percentages without self-injury. It was destroyed during the fight against Wolfram at the I-Island Expo.
