Chopper is a reindeer who gained the ability to transform into a human-reindeer hybrid after consuming theHito Hito no Mi, aZoan-type Devil Fruit. Under the guidance ofDoctors HirilukandKureha, his adoptive parental figures, Chopper became a skilled doctor. His ultimate dream is to travel the world and learn enough to become a doctor capable of curing any disease.

Despite his small stature and often being mistaken for the crew’s “pet” (as evidenced by his extremely low bounty ofBeli50after theEnies Lobby Arc), Chopper is a valuable member of the Straw Hat Pirates. Following theDressrosa Arc, his bounty increased toBeli100, and after theRaid on Onigashima, his bounty rose again toBeli1,000, though the World Government still underestimates him as a mere pet.

Chopper’s bounty has been a running gag in the series, as he was originally only given a bounty ofBeli50after the Enies Lobby Arc, where he was mistaken for the crew’s pet. His bounty was later increased toBeli100after the Dressrosa Arc and toBeli1,000after theRaid on Onigashima, though the World Government continues to underestimate his true strength and abilities.

Chopper is very protective of his crew, often going to great lengths to ensure their safety, especially in medical emergencies. His ultimate dream is to cure any disease and help people around the world, just as Dr. Hiriluk once inspired him to do.

While he is brave in the face of medical challenges, Chopper is also part of the“Weakling Trio”alongsideUsoppandNami, often showing cowardice in the face of powerful enemies. Despite this, he always steps up when his friends need him, particularly when it comes to fighting or providing medical aid.

Monkey D. Luffy
Chopper and Luffy share a playful relationship, often goofing around together. However, Luffy has also been a major source of motivation for Chopper. Dr. Hiriluk first introduced Chopper to the idea of pirates and their values, but Luffy was the first pirate he met in person. Despite this, they are very protective of each other. For instance, when Franky suggested killing Chopper during his Monster Point rampage, Nami threatened to kill him in return. Nami also allows Chopper to see her naked without reservation, treating him more like a cute pet than a male crew member.

Though Sanji initially joked about wanting to cook Chopper when they first met, the two have since developed a close relationship. Sanji teases Chopper by calling him the “emergency food supply,” but he also acts as a protective older brother figure. Chopper is often in awe of Sanji’s strength and will hide behind him when he feels threatened. He also rides on Sanji’s shoulders on occasion. Nico Robin

When Chopper first met Brook, he was terrified of him due to Brook’s skeletal appearance.
