Derrick Davis, distinguished as one of the nation’s premier prospects at Gateway High School, I earned accolades such as inclusion in the ESPN 300 (No. 29), Top247 (No. 98), and Rivals250 (No. 101) lists. ESPN identified me as the top safety prospect. Throughout my high school tenure, I accumulated 3,898 rushing yards on 493 carries with an average of 7.9 yards per carry, alongside 1,448 receiving yards on 109 catches averaging 13.3 yards per catch, resulting in a total of 77 touchdowns. Notable honors include being named an Under Armour All-American, Pennsylvania Football Writers All-Class 5A selection, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Class 5A Player of the Year, and TribLive High School Sports Network (HSSN) Football Player of the Year. During my four varsity seasons from 2017 to 2020, under the guidance of Coach Don Holl, Gateway achieved a remarkable 43-7 record (.860), clinching two WPIAL Class 5A championships and securing a berth in the PIAA title game.[-1]
